'01 CL-S vs. '05 WRX wagon
I typically don't race on the street - I try to keep it on the track... Moreover, I rarely ever push that hard with the CL-S... However....................
I was leaving my office around 7:30 last night and I see one of the few car guys from office building was pulling out just ahead of me. We get on the road and he guns it, so I figured I would too. From 35-40ish, I absolutely stomped him. I know he was romping on it because, well, he's not much for coming in 2nd. We get to a light and he says, wow, that's fast. Let's try again."
I am sensative to the fact that we have glass transmissions in these cars and that being arrested for street racing would be problematic. Nonetheless, I figured I'd ease out through the intersection fairly gently and then I'd push. Well, even pulling out relatively slowly, he didn't pull on me and then when I gave it a good amount of go juice, I absolutely crushed him - must have had 12-14 cars lengths by 65-70MPH. I know he was pushing as hard as he could that time too as he e-mailed me today and asked for a rematch...
Fun, fun, fun...

I can only tell you that it is indeed a WRX (wagon) that I raced. My CL-S is bone stock. I know how to drive (lots of track time - in the NSX and prior cars, admittedly not in the CL-S though). It is what it is... I had him by a huge margin. I wouldn't have even thought I would win. It'd be interesting to see what would happen if he drove my car and I drove his. I don't think I'll do that - I'm not keen on other's driving my cars, but it would be a cool test to figure out whether this one's the car or the driver....
