'01 acura cl rough start
Hi,
my '01 acura cl has trouble starting after long drives and moderate heat temps. . the car wouldnt idle correctly, almost sputtering but with gas it eventually catches. I replaced the fuel relay but the issue still occurs.
any ideas on what the issue may be? The main relay?
Thanks for your help,
jacob

cars can idle with a vac leak when col cause everything is running in "open loop" cycle.. this is where the car has predetemined perameters that is follows until everything heats up and the the sensors take over and the car functions off that..
so if it starts in the morning when cold, and idles rough or idles high then u almost certainly have a vac leak.
check the intake system, check the boot that connects the vsa to the intake system, and check everywhere else slowly and thoroughly.
grab things and move them a bit which may make a small crack on a line visible.
if u dont have a vac leak then i would look into the IAC.
when the car is running fine, disconnect and see what happens... when the car is acting up, then remove the iac connector again and see if there is a change... if there is not its likely the iac i would think
