0-60 = 2.4 sec
I know its magazine times but u guys gotta check it out.

Repeat after us, "Zero to 60 in 2.43 seconds." That's the amazing stat Hennessey Motor Sports' new Venom 800 Viper smacked down in a recent track test in Texas. Just how quick is that? It'll take you longer to say the stat than for the Venom 800 to do it!
Last month, we gave you the exclusive first look at Texas-based asp-kicker John Hennessey's latest tuner creation, his Venom 800 twin-turbo Viper GTS that belted out a whopping 833 hp and a mountain-pulling 902 lb-ft of torque. A Superflow chassis dyno verified that an unholy 725 hp was being delivered to the rear tires. However, the act of actually getting that gargantuan power to the pavement without merely vaporizing the rear tires would be the real test.
As it also turned out, various tuning gremlins (including a nasty turbo oiling problem) prevented us from performance testing this hell-spawn super-Viper at that time, so we vowed to return within 30 days to challenge the Venom 800 to MT's put-up-or-shut-up, no-holds-barred performance tests: The quarter-mile showdown and our patented standing-mile full-throttle acceleration run.
So now we're back, test gear in hand, helmet on, and right foot itching to burn some major rubber. We arrived at River City Raceway, located a few hours outside Houston, Texas, amid heavily overcast skies with a solid 20-mph headwind taunting us. Although the test conditions at the moment were less than ideal, the weather report called for rain, so Hennessey was eager to lay down some numbers rather than wait out the storm. First up was acceleration testing on stock-size radial tires that proved to be extremely tricky, but amazing nonetheless. Not too much throttle off the line (about 3500 rpm), and a lot of careful feather-footing to avoid wild wheelspin, produced a stout 10.71-sec quarter-mile pass at a staggering 137.6 mph (compared to a stock 460-hp Viper ACR's best of 12.2 sec/119.2 mph). But what would this mega-torque monster do with better traction? Hennessey's engineers checked over the Venom 800 and then swapped on a set of sticky Mickey Thompson E.T. Street 26x11.5-16 street-legal "cheater slicks." Back out on the dragstrip, the soft-rubbered Venom 800 could now handle 5400-rpm launches, which generated just a light screech of the tires (and a wild nose-high launch attitude
With a few shakedown runs complete, Hennessey tossed us the keys and told us to have fun. A few 10.28- and 10.11-sec timeslips brought big grins to the nervously watching Hennessey, but when a 9.99-sec blast occurred, Hennessey let out a cheer so loud the guys in L.A. heard it. That's quick enough to let you race door-to-door against a 2100-lb NHRA Super Gas dragster. Understand this: Outside of NHRA and F1 drivers, not many people have experienced the steam-catapult-like accelerative force of a car this quick. Take everything a stock Viper has and then double it-yeah, that's about right. At full throttle, the Venom 800 Twin-Turbo pulls so ungodly hard your face will contort into shapes approximating a Tammy Faye Bakker halloween mask, so don't look in a mirror. After a 10-sec quarter-mile run (street tires wildly spinning the entire way; rearend skating left and right toward the guardrails), you'll probably need to change your underwear.
Pulling the ultimate fast time out of a car this overpowered is no easy task, and the best process is to work your e.t. down by changing one factor (launch rpm, shift rpm, etc.) per run.
Later that night, we did a bit of cruising on the streets of Houston in the Hennessey bruiser. Crowds continually gathered around the Venom 800, and a few clueless chaps tried to line up some street race action. Being good, law-abiding citizens, we even managed to keep our wallets closed when one guy bragged about how his 11-second car would easily smoke the Viper.
After a scant few hours of sleep, it was time to head out to a private test track for MT's patented super-high-speed 0-1-mile acceleration test. Rainsoaked roads provided little confidence on our drive to the track, but we were determined to break the record books with a first-ever 200-mph standing-mile run in a street-legal, fully accessorized, with-a-warranty production car. Although the rain did subside long enough to let the tarmac somewhat dry, our lone effort (a wildly fishtailing, short-shifting run) yielded only a 193.54-mph pass. With the rainclouds lurking, we decided to err on the side of "good 'nuff" rather than tempt fate on the marginal track surface. Another dry day would surely come, and we're more than confident the Venom 800 will break the 200-mph barrier. Heck, if conditions are right, an all-out top-speed run may be in order. How fast, you ask? We'd put money on a solid 230-mph-all with a warranty and air conditioning, mind you.
OMG!!

DUDE, that's like HALFPRICE!
Wtf. Usually you have to bring him the Viper and he'll mod it to a TT800 for like $70,000 on TOP of the Viper's sticker price.
Hmmm.

There is 7 days left until the auction ends. I'm pretty sure it will hit over 100k.

Your on crack, Vipers are amazing machines.....only car that I have given friends a ride in that are like "holy F*ing Shit"...and people practically fall out of their windows to look at, it must be doing something right.
Gen I cars (92-96) aren't so great (zipper windows, no 450hp except for the GTS, poor fitting hoods)..
Gen II (97 +) are significantly better, very well put together, power windows and hard top for the RT/10.
Hennessey doesn't have a great rep as an honest business man.....I would go with his former sidekick Roy Tepestra (King Snake) from TNT Motorsports for serious mods.
But I won't be dropping an additional $40-$60k on modding my car anytime soon.

Cost Drivers!!!!
yeah, i'm not to high on Viper either. Not like i'm an expert or anything. Everybody raves about them but to me it's sorta a half muscle car half super car. For the amount of money I'll buy the NSX or a Bozz Speed Lancer Evo II

Those price are way TOO much. You can probably custom fabricate a turbo, for a lot cheaper then that.

Yeah, he definitely does very good work- when he's on.....but there have been many cases (ethics wise) where he has fallen short.
This isn't me bad mouthing someone, I have read lots of stories concerning the issue for a few years now (old and new Viperclub.org boards).

Nah, racing F-16s wouldn't work too well, fu Anyone looked at the 2003? Personally it is a hardass looking car, but I don't think it follows with what the viper should look like.
