yeah, and if the new Civic Si cost $24,950 it would be "unprecedented" as well. Except it wouldn't be called unprecedented value. This is why people in marketing make good money!! No thanks. The new Si will probably shame that POS Benz on every level. Sad....

 

Back again to how people buy cars for the badge, "I have Benz."

 

Hey!! I just bought it cuz it was roomy. More room than your typical SUV with te same amounth of trunk space. And plus my mom liked it because of the round lights in the front and safety. Not cuz its a Benz..but I know lots of people with the "I drive a Benz" attitude.

Or is that price a C-Coupe fully un-loaded? (i.e. no leather, A/C, etc?)

OK, some people, to make it clear. Shit, I would love a Benz, the one you bought, a CLK55, or many others, just not that coupe.

This car basically targets people that have this "I drive a Benz" attitude, just like the 318 did the same for BMW.

With all the options, it would be comparable to the CL-S price-wise.

 

well, we all know what happened to the 318ti, don't we?

the name can sell cars...but only to a certain point...and if not pulled from the market quick enough it will slowly bring the name down.

I think it's pretty attractive if you ask me.. The only option I would add are leather interior(1400)..
maybe possibly the upgraded stereo, since I wanna keep everything stock(bose +600).

bringing the total to 27k.. not all that unreasonable.. it's not to be compared with a Civic SI, come on now.. that is FUGLY if you ask me.. it's supposed to compete against the RSX if anything... and it does it reasonably well.. and of course.. it is still a Benz.. but since most of you guys are so biased......

i agree. that mb isn't that bad looking compared to soe bulky/huga MB that i have seen on the road. yeah, maybe it doesn't come std. w/ leather or navi but for those people that are true die hard MB fans that dont have the flow to get their kid a MB. A mb is still a mb....just like a kia is still a kia and so on. i think i read some where in that article that they'll also offer the amg package...dunno.
