TSX 2008: time to get new tires
Hi,
It’s time to change my OEM tires Michelin Pilot HX MXM4 (P215/50R17 93V) on my 2008 TSX. I live in New Brunswick, Canada. I am looking for 4 seasons tires. I have a separate set of winter tires.
I searched the forum and found that a few owners are satisfied with Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position, and with Continental ExtremeContact DWS.
I visited a couple of local dealers and they offered me the following:
Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S
Michelin Primacy MXV4
BFGoodrich Advantage
Toyo Extensa BW90T
Kelly Navigator Tour Gold VSB95V.
Any suggestions? Any I should avoid?
Thanks J

I think both of the Michelin's have pretty good reviews (don't know about the others), or you could just order the Bridgestones or the Conti's from Tire Rack and have them drop shipped to an installer (they have a list of those too).

I've had both the Bridgestone 960AS and now the Conti DWS on my TSX. Both tires are cheaper and a much better replacement to the OEM.
The Bridgestone 960AS are quiet, lots of grip, and sexy tread pattern. I don't get a lot of snow and rain in New Mexico; but, I noticed they did just OK in the rain (better than OEM). I would consider the Bridgestones just average in snow/slush conditions. Another negative for me was the treadlife. It was about the same as OEM and I only got about 32,000 miles before I started looking for replacements. I would rate the Bridgestone 960AS a 3 season tire only (spring/summer/early fall)
I've had the Conti DWS for about 5,000 miles and they have all the perks of the Bridgestones. The added feature is they do a much better job in rain, slush, and snow. This is a real 4 season tire. The treadlife on the Conti is 540 compared to 300 (I think) for the Bridgestones. I liked the Conti DWS so much, I put them on the wife's RDX last month. If you check out the MDX, RL, RDX and TL forms; you will find a lot of folks going with the Conti DWS as their all season solution. The Conti DWS do have a softer sidewall compared to the Bridgestones. The softer sidewall has not impacted the way I drive the TSX or RDX.
