Question Tire Size Selection (Tire Stretch?)

Hey again guy's. I posted a thread not too long ago deciding on what is a good set-up for wheels. I believe I have decided to go with the Work Emotion xD9's in either a +30 offset to a +38 offset but haven't decided how wide. (Am dropping the car first)

I was looking at this tire size ----> 235/40-18 and on the tire/wheel guide it's only -0.2% off oem.

I ran the tire size in a calculator and they say it should fit 18x7 to 18x9 wheels.

My question was has anyone run a wider tire or done tire stretching? I would want to avoid tire stretching but I could buy a 18x10 +38 offset wheel from LSD Motorsports (Deep Dish Look) but the guide does not have a wider tire.

Is that because it's a problem with tire size fitting, and thats as wide a tire able to fit the TSX? I can give more specs between the differences of tires from the calculator. Heres what I used.

Thanks again!

Ken.

I would go with 18x8.5 rims and the tires really depend on how low you want to lower you car. If you want the aggressive look you willh ave to roll your fenders. The wider the rim the more negative you would have to be. Tires will not last long and you'll spend lots on it alone. you should research before you actually buy the rims/tires. look up the rim forum on here or .com and see what you like. good luck

How about 18x9 rims with a 235/40-18 tire? I was already planning on rolling and pull if needed. Thanks for the reply.

Here is a link of the many from TSXclu b.com and it will give you an idea of how low you want to go and what size tires to meet your criteria. It helps a lot to see what others specs are.
