a majority of our customers actually go with 235/40/18 because it matches the overall rolling diameter of the stock setup the best. The reason the tire isn't suggested to go on 7.5" wide is because of the mounting process, but I have yet to hear about anybody who has a problem with that setup ever.

Just want to make sure that wheels and tires of the following specs will fit 2006 TSX:
Wheel spec:
Width: 8.5
Diameter: 18 inches
Bolt pattern: 5 x 4.50 or 5 x 114.3
Offsets: 44
Tire spec:
P225/35ZR18 and/or P245/35ZR18
Thanks!

Would I rub with a 19x8.5 rim with a +40mm offset? and a 1.5" drop in the front + a 1.2" drop in the rear?
Sorry for the very bad photoshop...What type of tire woudl be best for this combination?
In all honesty I think I am going to have rubbing issues?? Would the 1.5" drop and the 1.2" in the rear be enough to make the wheel fit good in the wheel well or would I need to go lower?

Looking to run a 1.5~2.0 drop,
on 18x8.5 +43 (46mm)
tire size 225/40/18 OR 235/40/18
(want to be able to drop, without rubbing or any damage inside tirewell)
suggestions?

would the '08 TL Sparkle Silver A-Spec rims (18X8 +45 offset, tire size 245/40/18) fit on an '07 TSX w A-Spec suspension? i'm thinking about doing this....how would it look? is it the same exact wheel they offer in chrome for the TSX?

changing from 17's to 18's has nothing to do at all with a wheel gap.
the whole tire/rim combo will still be the same size... if you do it right.
the rim will get bigger, the tire smaller. that's how it works.

i dont know much about cars but i just got an 08 so im tryin to learn now
based on the OP's chart im guessing
(235/35-19 .....3.2in .......12.7in ....25.5in ......80.0in ..............792 ..........0.0%)
is most favorable since the difference is 0%... am i correct?
if so.. that means 19 inch rims would use 235/35/19 tires?

but being that it's a 235 tire, I'd suggest getting the rim at 19x 8 inches wide.
and wth an offset of probably about +45 or +48.
then you should be good.

I"m thinking of 18 x 8, +45mm wheels, what tire would be a better choice? A 225/40/18 or a 235/40/18? I know that the 235 matches better, but what would the 235 make the whole and tire stick out from the fender?
#226
i've searched a lot but haven't seen anyone as low as me so it's hard to get a real answer.
i'm about to buy some wheels 18x7.5 with 225/40
i've tucked my liner already and i rub hard on sharp turns.
would it be smarter to get a 215/45? less wider = less rubbing perhaps?
i dont have a recent pic. but i'm about .5" lower now.

^^ nope.
a 7.5 inch wide rim takes a 225 tire, not a 235.
and a 40 sidewall is what you want, not a 35 for better oem fit.
so 225/40
and to tofu:
nope.
offset is what you need to worry more about, not tires.
being that low, on this car, you want an offset of +48 to +55.
and for those who say I'm wrong, please shut it.
in order to not rub and be that low, you'll need that offset, trust me.
I know from EXPERIENCE.
k, then.
the 215 will help some, but not a ton.
seeing how you're buying new 18 x 7.5 rims (which I am too by the way)
then get them with a +48 or higher offset.
I'm ordering mine with a +48 offset.
so for a 18 x 7.5 x 18 the 225/40/18 tire is correct.
and offset will determine rubbing or not.

I’m a rookie to the site!! I’m looking at getting 18’ or 19’ rims on my 2007 tsx…so my car is stock and don’t know if I want to drop…so what size do I go with? I was looking at Stern St-8 Hyper mesh II gloss black. 19x8.5 offset of 45 with 235/35/19. I have no clue if this will look good or even be done considering no mod experience. Any help would really be appreciated!!! Or if i should go 18'?

Civic Si wheels
Excellent thread !!
I'm looking at using Civic Si 5-spoke split rims (17x7 with +45 offset) on a stock TSX (no plans to lower it) with stock size tires (215/50R17). Is assume the center bore is the same for the civic Si rim as the TSX rim (please correct me if I am wrong).
From everything I have read here there should be no real issues with rubbing ,etc. I gather the steering center feel may not be as good. Any feedback on this one. Will I loose any turning performance ?
Anyone running this set up ? Any complaints ? Any pics would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

would this size rim and tire fit?
I have tanabe springs with i think a 1.25" drop
18x8 +40 Offset with tires 224/45/18
please let me know if someone knows, I don't know how to calculate the diameters. Thanks ahead of time.
