What offset has the wheels got?
At a rough guess, presuming +45, I'd say you'll be fine at that drop level. Maybe even up to 2" as well.

sorry for the newbie question....

Will 18x8, +40, 5 x 114.3 rims with 245/40R18 tires fit on a 2007 TSX? Will it rub?

I am about to purchase a 2007 TSX, can anyone provide more insight on the TPMS? What's the affect of putting on some aftermarket rims/tires? Can I take out the TPMS sensors out of the stock tires and install it in the aftermarkets?

Thanks!

You looking to move those rims to your new TSX?
I have 19x8 +49offset and they fit the TSX just fine. the OEM wheels are 17x7 with +55 offset.

I ordered a set of rims that are 17"x8" w/ a =42 offset. I tried to link into the tire calculator... but it didn't go. I will be running the stock tires 215/50/17 since I just got the car. Are these going to stick out an make it look like a 4x4? I am nervous since I didn't realize that they were 8" wide.... Am I screwed?

Don't know if anyone has discussed this in the 7 pages, but TireRack lists our OEM tires at 819 Revs/mile, not the 792 as calculated by Dan in the first page. If someone wants me to update, I will.

They won't be flush, and it will stick out alittle.

I had 18x7.5 +40 (not flush) and a set of 17x8 +49 offset little better but wasn't flush to fender.

Would 19x9.5 +42 wheels with 235/35/19 tires be a problem? No drop at the moment but if were dropped a little, how low could one go before it becomes a problem?

19x9.5 is too wide for the front. Your tires are going to be pretty damn stretched. I would get something less wide in the front.

Are you going for the staggered fit?

yeah, they are staggered... I believe the ones for the front are 19x8.5 and the rear ones are 19x9.5

the rear wheels might stick pass the fender but I'm not sure. 235 tire is fine for the front. but I would run at least a 245 tire in the rear but that might cause u rub if you drop.

Is anyone rolling on wheels with a 38mm offset? If so how far past the fender does it stick out? I was thinking about getting a set of Enkei J10`s that are 18 x 7.5 with a 38mm offset. I need some input please.

With 225-40-18 tires, you'll be sticking a little outside of the fender... keep it to at least a +42mm offset and 225 rubber, and you'll be flush.

Just a quick question, will this wheel + tire combo rubs?

17X8 +42 offset wheel with 225/45/17 tires with a 3'' drop (tires tucked in)

have rsx type s 17's (45mm offset) with the oem tsx 215/45/17 pilots

how much WIDER of a tire can i go without sticking out or being too big on the rim? 225? 235?
should i go with 50's again or look at a 45? these need to be all season... wisconsin snow doesnt like low profile tires too much either.

thanks

another wheel/tire combo?

Hey, I have been searching and haven't seen anyone ask about this wheel and tire combo, I have been looking at the TSW Laguna in 19" x8" with a 40mm offset. The tires I was looking at are 225/40R19s.

I want to have an Eibach Prokit installed.

Just worried about the rear tires rubbing, any thoughts or opinions would be great.

Thanks.

anyone running 225/45-R17 tires?

They will fit on 17x7 (which is what I am getting) but they are so wide I wonder how much they show over the lip of the wheel.

They're not "so wide" - they're a perfect fit.
The design of a tyre will have an effect on how flush or not it sits with the rim - it's a design feature to help minimise kerbing the wheel.

But unlike the Euro Accord, the TSX runs a different width/sidewall ratio, so you really ought to check www.carbibles.com/tyre_bible_pg2.html and compare the standard tyre size with the new size planned for. Keep within ±2%, tighter if you can, to maintain speedo and odometer accuracy.

We should amend the first post in this thread to show that the stock Michelin HX MXM4 tires that come on the TSX have a load rating of 1433 pounds (XL rated).

Therefore, all replacement tires, no matter their size, should be rated at or greater than 1433 pounds MAX LOAD.

Check here for more information:

too many pages to search, but is a 235/40-18 too wide for a 7.5" wheel? I know OE is 7" and according to the table, if I want a slightly wider tire I would have to be between 215 and 235, but I don't want mamouth tires if the new wheel is only .5" wider. I just looked at a newer mustang with 235s on it and they look REALLY wide, but they are on 8" wheels. Any thoughts? thanks.

thanks ilovemyhonda......

i need to figure out if the ronjon's are 7.5 or 8" wide....think 7.5 might be too narrow for 235's.

^ You're right. For a 235/40/18 tire, you need at least a 8in rim. That's what it says on tirerack.com

that's interesting, b/c ronjon suggests a 235 tire for their 18x7.5 size inspyre rims??? doesn't make sense....i think i'll have to go with 225/45/18 instead, however, it's going to throw off my spedometer more (approx. 1.6%) vs. only 0.2% going with 235x40x18
