Tire question

I know tire width's have been discussed before, but there has been no definitive answer to whether higher width tires will work on the stock rims. I used to run 245/45/R17 on my 7.5 width Konigs with no trouble on my previous Jetta. So I am just wondering, if i take 2 of my old 245/45/17 from my old car and just put them on the two rears of my new tsx will there be any rubbing problems, or will they work with the car and the stock rims?

I'm just trying to save some money by using up these old tires, and then going back to my stocks when they are burnt. Will it work out for me?

Those are too wide for 7" wheels. The ideal rim for them is 8" wide but they will work on a 7.5".

Running 245 in the rear and 215 in the front is not going to be good for handling. The TSX understeers from the factory and by adding more rubber in the rear will just exaggerate the problem. It's also unsafe to have different tires front and rear since they will grip differently under different conditions.

You should stick to the stock rubber IMO.
