tire help please
My wheels have finally made it (ADVAN Kreuzer Series X) and now I need some tires. The wheels are 18X8, and I was thinking either 225/40 or 225/35. I don't mind the lower profile, rougher ride, dodging potholes, whatever...I'm in it for looks.
Here's the question......what tires do you guys think are good. I'm not looking for some crap Kumhos or Hankook( sorry to offend anyone that might have them) I am looking for either Yokos or Dunlops, maybe Nittos, Bridgestones, whatever. Does anyone have experience with different tires and how they hold up under very hot road conditions. I live in El Paso, which gets damn hot in the summer. Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance people!

The high end yoko's are nice, the high end bridgestones are nice but neither of them are going to hold up- its not what they are designed to do. If your going for all out I would look into the AVS sports or S-03 pole positions and pick the one that you like better, they are both phenominal tires. The 225/40 is closer to the right size and would be my recommendation over the 225/35 it would be very hard to notice the difference so go with the 40 series tires.
Another tire you may want to look into is the Fuzion, its built by Bridgestone at one of there Japanese plants, however its a new brand of tire for them aimed at, well us! The name of the tire is the Fuzion ZR-i check out the website www.thefuzionzone.com I have a set on order as soon as they come out for my car to give them a shot- the few sizes I have in already look very promising!

Performance tires may get a little too soft on hot roads. If you aren't concerned about tire wear than go with the Bridgestones or Yokos. Otherwise you might want to go with a harder rubber compound tire like the Kumhos that you think are crap
I would also suggest you look at the Toyo T1-S. It's a fantastic performance tire.

I love the yokos and the toyos. If your going for performance tires I would go with the Yokos, my personal favorite is the AVS ES 100. I went with a performance tire that looks just like the AVS ES 100, NanKang NII-SR. I never heard much about them, but I get them in this week and we'll see how they feel.
My friend has a set of the Kumho tires, I haven't heard much about them either, but they seem like an OK tire for the price.
