Tein Suspension in Canadian Weather??
Hey
looking for some advise, I've got an 04 TSX and am looking to drop it this winter or spring.
I have been looking at the Tein SS or Basic coilovers but don't know if they will survive daily driving in freezing temps for 4 months of the years. If not are there any shock and spring combos that would give me the same drop. about 1.5"-2.0"...
Also any one have problem with bottoming out with 5 people in the car with any set up??
Thank Guys

I have Tein Basics on the recommended settings and I don't have any problems bottoming out with 5 people in the car, it really depends on how low you set the coilovers. If you're scared of them freezing in the winter (which I don't think will) then you can just swap them out for the stock suspension in the winter and put them back on after winter.

Coilovers aren't too bad in winter, and although my experience with them is all hearsay (I have Tein H-tech springs), you're best served to thoroughly spray the threads each fall (or more frequently) with WD-40 or silicone spray, to repel any salt or melted snow and prevent that from rusting the threads.
Personally on Ottawa roads (as I'm here too!), the H-tech is as much as I'd recommend dropping a car that is daily-driven in the winter. It's a 1.1" drop and with my OEM lip kit, I barely get into my driveway, and already had a front bumper crack on me in the winter with a bit of ice sticking up from the road. I couldn't imagine being any lower as I'd have to open up my own bumper manufacturing company and own a paint booth... LOL!

I'm dropped 1.75 on Tein springs and I have the a spec package. If you hit a really big bump or go quickly over speed bumps than will scratch the front bumper. after 1 winter i ended up with a few scratches and cracks on the front bumper but that probably could have been avoided. Overall it is not that bad and it is definitely worth the looks and handling. I am also slightly lower because i bought low profile winter tires (45 sidewall) on stock rims. By the way i live in Toronto so this winter was pretty crazy.

I ended up doing the strut/spring combo (tokico Blue and tein s-tech), got the drop in the range you want. In winter i use 205/55/16 winter tires. And in this pic with my summer tires it is 225/45/17.
