tein basic or ss?(maybe tanabe)

I am planning on ordering some coilovers,
most of my driving is done with my family on board, I just wanna look cool doing it
is the basic really harsh, do I really need the 16way adjustable stiffness, I donīt beleave I will ever try different settings for this driving and other for that driving, If you know what I mean.

I want to be just about close to stock stiffness maybe alittle stiffer but have the ability to lower it for shows.

I can get the basics for 940bucks with shipping to Icland, I think thatīs the best Iīm gonna get!

also what about the tanabe coilover set? what is the regular price for a set of those? and how does it compare to tein?

The spring rates for various coilovers are listed and discussed. The Tein Basics/SS are roughly double the spring rate of the OEM TSX suspension. I don't think they'd be harsh at all, but ride quality is highly subjective. Teins are considered to be very good, in general.

For your needs, taking family around, I would highly recommend the Tanabes Sustec. It's similar to the Tein Basics in terms of adjustability, only height adjustable, but the Tanabes have much softer springs. It'll be more gentle on your ass and your family's. I've personally been in a TSX with Tanabes and I absolutely loved it, very similar to the stock ride comfort, and also gives you the flexibility of height control for bling bling factors. I currently have the Buddy Club Racing Spec coilovers, and these springs are a bit too rough for my @$$ (that is subjective), though handling is purely ecstatic

i think they are 765 from one of the vendors. If you dont plan to track or anything the tanabes are the perfect coilovers.

Like I always do, I will suggest upgrading to the SS. It took me about 3 weeks to finally get the stiffness tuned in. you don't have that option with the basics. You can adjust ride height, but not the stiffness. And if you want to make it as close to stock as possible, you will need the SS to soften it up.

Just my duece pennies!

I want to go with the SS but it costs me just under 2000dollars with taxes and all that junk, but the basics are around 1500bucks. I donīt want to spend too much.
but I am gonna check the tanabes out
