The aluminum is covered w/ carbon fiber. I am thinking that if it's just covered, with a few good hits by rocks, that crap will begin to peel. If it had a great amount of carbon fiber on it, especially that of a high grade, it would be a lot more expensive than prices posted above.

 

i saw those at the car show. and i still think they're ugly to this day.

 

i've never seen anything like them, i guess i was stupid thinking the middle section was completely made of carbon fibre... why bother if its just a coating over alluminium

 

I think the middle part is 100% CF, but besides that it's all made of alluminum.
I thought this rim was pretty nice for that price, but I guess some of you don't like them.
I want one!!!
