Shipping Tires - what type of packing?

Just stick a shipping label onto the tire and you are good to go. If you were shipping wheels and tires together then it would be a problem, they wouldn't insure them that way. Not to mention they would probably "fall off the truck"!

I've shipped tires and wheels a few times now. Based on the advice from my local tire shop, here's how I do it:
1. Cut some cardboard to fit over the wheels - lightly tape it to the sidewalls.
2. Run shrink wrap around the face of the tire/wheel a number of times for protection.
3. Place your shipping label over the tread.
For shipping tires alone I'd probably just skip #1.
