RJ servos dislike or like?

Hey guys i was posting on the rsx forums and some pictures, there seems to be a huge dislike on the rj servos....
Anyone else dislike them? i'm trying see why besides not a fan of chrome or stuff like that...

I was thinking about getting race style rims but ive was very lucky on getting both these sets of servos.

they were both a steal
first set 300 used, then blizzard in buffalo last oct i got insurance for the rims in full (1600 value)
2nd set got used from rj himself (open boxed item they shipped wrong set of rims to a guy )
so i got the new set for real cheap.

^ What he said. If you like it, then keep it.

I'll give you my opinion and I'm going to be straightforward and honest to you. I don't have a problem with any of RonJon's products, because he sells reliable and good looking wheels.

I just don't like the Servos (design).

I've said it once before. Drop your car on it's face, get 17/18inch Advans, and your car will look amazing. Not that it doesn't look great now, but it'll look even better.

Yea i know im just mind boggled why people dont like it but i guess rsx people are into race style volks and stuff.

Not that im not, but i do plan on swapping the wheels for some nice volks or advans.
Not to mention since i just go teins basics. I'm sure i'd great look then.

Still im stuck with what i can get, and after i get a nice paying job things like that won't be a problem =P

That's the most important thing of all. If you like it, then you're satisfied. Doesn't really matter what others think.

not a fan of the design nor the chrome, but that's just one man's opinion.

don't let what people say sway you though. it's your car not theirs. i made mine to look how i wanted it. if every car looked how i wanted it to... they would all look the same. variety is the spice of life!

Yea whats that phrase to each of his own?

I like my wheels but these are for now, i def want something really nice soon, but im still a college student and still hunting down used parts =)

thats how most of mystuff are used, but instead of people throwing them to people who won't take care of them.
Their mods are atleast in good hands =)

I like them a lot

I have thought about selling them only because the 225/40/18 reinforced Falken tire combo gets pretty darn jarring on the roads around me on my commute to work. If i sold them i would either stay with stocks or go with 17x8's......But i like the desgin honestly. I like 5 star simple designs, i HATE the mesh look on our cars but its all about opinion and to each his own....

Personally I don't like them much because they're too open. They make the brake discs look tiny. I'm not a fan of the chrome at all and in general, not a fan of wheels with spokes that taper towards the outside of the wheel. These are all just aesthetic choices and as such, it's not possible to be wrong or right on the issue.

I just imagine rims like that being on cars other than the TSX. They give me the impression that they are heavy, being 18's and being chromed out. Even more so a reason why an RSX would not look good with them on. They just are more Lamborghini than Ferrari. They obviously aren't just another 5 star rim though- they look good, maybe on another car.

Maybe its my own preconceptions, but I wouldn't put it on my TSX (Not that my rims are god gift either). Really, this is just an impression, so I hope you don't take offense.

I'm not a fan of chrome either, but these are probably the only chrome rims I'll ever actually like.

IMHO they look worse in non-chrome.

I like the Servos, I think they look perfect on the TSX. Sharp styled rims on a car with sharp lines.

Well, to be perfectly fair, aftermarket wheels/tires can definitely improve performance provided you go with lightweight wheels of comparable diameter and better gripping tires .

I'm a performance guy too and I went with my Advans for two reasons:

1) they look good (IMO)
2) they provide a 5-6lbs weight reduction per corner

i know about that... rims would be the last thing i would get... the only performance i got on my rims were street slicks on an extra set of stock rims...

There aren't too many rims out there that appeal to me, but those look pretty good. Well done.

Why would they be last on your list? Whats would be ahead of them? Just wondering, because for the TSX, lighter rims (and tires for that matter) make a big difference. Keep in mind that we aren't talking about a car that can be excessively modified to negate the effect of wheel weight.

ahead of the rims would be a fully built motor... and nothing else says sleeper than stock rims....

Ya, that's kinda what I figured had to be the case. You're on a whole different plane of expectation.

However, given that most of us are pretty satisfied with gains from bolt-ons, lightweight rims and tires would be a revelation. So for the audience here, rims and tires would make a difference to them.

I think stock tsx rims are 24 or 25lbs
but the rjs are actually 2 - 3 lbs lighter
They survived a pretty bad hit that i took on the highway this summer.

but something had to give, the air stayed in pretty long. I found out that hit i took during the summer bent one of the struts...

^^ gawd damn, thank goodness you didn't have a blown tire.

My .02 cents: 2-3 lbs isn't gonna matter much, even more so when you've gone up in size to 18s.

Its a nice build in rim since it tightly wraps the tirein it so no air pressure leak.

Yea i know i wasn't expecting it to be lighter but their quality rims.

personally i think they are kinda ugly.. i like either mesh or thick te37 style spokes on the tsx. something similar to the oem rim designs. something about the skinny spokes on the servos that i dont like.

maybe the rsx boards dislike them because they look like the stockies haha
