I'm looking forward to your review. I'm still planning on getting a set of these when I'm ready to drop my car. Do you mind if I ask where you happen to order them from?

Let us know what you guys think about the ride quality and how much stiffer it is then stock. I've heard good things about the Tanabe setup too.

Does the Tanabe coilovers allow you to adjust the shocks, or just the height? Also, why did you decide to get the Tanabe instead of Tein Basics?

hey guys, yeah I was just wondering if these coilovers had damping adjustment also, or just the height adjustment.

The Sustec Pro S-OC and S-OC Type II coilovers are just height adjustable, the difference being that the S-OC set has a helper spring in addition to the main coil. For more info, there's a link on here by a representative from Tanabe which has a bit more info.

yep... but if you are looking at them make sure you pay attention to the spring rates. These are by far the closest rates to stock. They are fairly soft (one of the reasons I don't really care about the lack of dampening adjustment).

Since the spring is so soft, have you had any problems with bottoming out the strut or rubbing your tires on the fender rim?

Hey, ok got my installed,

I love them! The look is awesome and the feel is great so far. I got them done the day before I had to leave town for a week (I'm out of town now) so I only got a few hours of driving in but I love them so far. The look is perfect, not to bumpy a ride, and the performance increase was better then I expected. After comparing the spring rates and reading reviews I didn't expect a huge increase in performance, to be honest I was getting them for the look (the wheel gap KILLED me), but it was more of a performance increase then I had originally expected.

After the few hours or driving I could get in I came home to find out my digital camera was broken so no pictures until I get back and borrow one. I'm really pissed about that too because this seriously looks sooooo good, I love it. I wish I could show everyone who is thinking about it. Anyway, maybe I will try to get someone to take pics of my car while I'm not there and send them to me... we'll see. But def for the tanabes

hey congrats on getting the coilovers installed.

Just wondering, do the Tanabe's require you to reuse some of the stock suspension parts like the Tein basics and SS make you do, or do they come with all the parts you need to install without recycling stock parts like the Flex?

hi, do you mind elaborating what parts you received? also, is the s-0c the same with gf?
I got mine, ordered s-0c, got gf, but they look exactly the same. However, some of the parts in the picture I don't receive. Does it use OEM parts?

I live in Virginia, had it installed at Inlinepro. It cost $260... not a bad price overall. I get home on Sat so I will take pics then.

euro77, the things you're pointing to appear to be the upper mounts that have to be transferred over from the existing shocks. I know that's the case for the Tein SS and Basic, but I didn't know it had to be done for the Tanabes...

ah... ok... so you're saying those parts are already on the oem shocks, so I just need to reuse them?

The springs seem to be settling unevenly, the front was dropped 2" and the back 1.75" but I think the back is settling a tad more. I might have to increase the drop in the front.

The first two words that the red arrows are pointing, translate to "original". Most likely using the OEM original parts as Dan pointed out.

It's not settling unevenly. What you are seeing is normal. The front wheel well is cut higher than the rear. Therefore, the car looks higher in front, but it really isn't. Since you have a 6 speed, this gap difference is greater as it seems the heavier A/T TSXs are a bit lower in the front in stock form. For instance, LannyM's stock 6 speed measured about 15" from center of rim to the wheel well. My stock AT measured about 14.5" or so.

From your photos, it already looks like you've made the gaps much closer from the 1/4" extra drop in front. I think it looks fine, but if you really want to even it out, drop the front a bit more.

You should drive around for a week to let the suspension settle more before you make further adjustments as the drop looks to be less than 2"/1.75".

Measure from the very center of the Acura symbol on your rim to the top of the wheel well. You should be at or close to 13" if it's 2" lower than stock.

Good info thanks... I was planning on waiting a little longer to see how everything looks after another week or two.

Well, the ride comfort is awesome with these. It really just depends on what you want. The Tanabes have lower then average spring rates... so it makes for a pretty nice ride. Much closer to stock then some other coilovers. I didn't feel like I needed the dampening adjustment because of all that.
