Doing some tire decision guide research at Tirerack I am left with the following choices:

215/50-17:
Fuzion ZRi
Kumho ECSTA SPT
Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS Pole Position


Thoughts? I have snow tires, so these will only be used in Rain and dry conditions....

Priorities in order:
1) Handling
2) Noise
3) Gas Milage
4) Treadlife
5) Cost

Out of all those tires i think everyone will tell you to just get the Bridgestone's if you can spend the money. They are just an overall much better tire than the other two from what i have read on here. However, a few people have been saying good things about the Fuzion Zri's since bridgestone makes them and they are a replica of the RE750 i think....some one can confirm that!

As for the Kumho's, you will get mixed opinions on those. Some think they are a good tire for the money, others have been disappointed. Honestly, IMO i think its all a matter of how much tire expierence you have had. If you have ever had really good tires on a car and then you "downgrade" you will obviously be dissappointed. For me, i'm relatively new to the tire game since i never cared what was on my old car, so i think any upgrade from the stock tires would be more than sufficient for me

Not sure what you mean, but if are trying to stay with stock size and get a summer only tire, you should also look at the Yokohama ES100's, and Avon M500's. Both have been reviewed very well on this board. If you use the search function, you will sure find what your looking for.

Others will mention toyo tires, falken, nitto, and a few others, but those aren't sold at Tirerack, you need to find another website for those. Again, the search will be your friend

Can I run 225/45-17 size tires on my stock rims? I'm assuming these are wider but also look thinner on the car....I like very low profile tires and wondering if I can do this and if so then what disadvantages are there to doing this?

Yoko AS430s are an excellent all season too, and, the V4S are even better in everything but snow.

I think i'm gonna go with the Avon M500s, they seem to be reviewed the best on Tirerack and here.

Now the question is, can i put 225/45-17's on my stock rims?

If so, what are the advantages/disadvantages of doing this?

ok, from what i see, is that I should stick with 215/50/17 and not go with the 225/45/17s cause even though the 225s will provide better cornering with more rubber to the pavement, they will look dumb without an a-spec drop?
