New 06 TSX - Suspension Mods

New to the list, Just picked up a brand new 06 TSX (Nighthawk Black Pearl) Had the dealer install a set of O.Z 18's, now I am looking to lower it a bit to fill in the wheel wells, Any suggestions and also where to purchase!!

TIA

Tein Flex or Basics, A-Spec suspension might be a good place to look. Are you looking to pretty much slam the car? If not, the A-Spec is a good option, but it will leave some wheel gap. People that have the Tein's seem happy with them, and it lowers the car much more. Acura of Escondido has A-Spec at a good price on ebay, and I believe you can get Tein in the Black Market section here.

Congrats on the car and welcome to AZ

If the car is newer and you have less miles just get a set of springs. If you want a great street setup get the TEIN Basics.

Don't really have one, I am looking for a tight ride but the car must remain functional for the family, really just looking to clean it up.

A-Spec suspension or springs perhaps. Any Tein coilover setup will significantly stiffen the suspension, which might not be good for 'family' purposes. Some Comptech springs will close that gap right up tho.

I agree with Reach, i would go Aspec for the family purpose. I had Tein Basics on my car (which i am going to sell soon) and it was a little stiff for a family. I am going with Aspec on my new TSX!

There is also the Tein CS coilover suspension. That is supposed to be the ultimate in luxury ride while allowing aggressive lowering of the car. It is also highly adjustible in terms of both ride height and dampening. Only 1 person on here has it, I believe he said it can be made to even softer than stock.

If you're just looking to close the gap go with Comptech or Eibach springs. It's about a 1" drop that maintains ride comfort.

PM me if you need a set.

i've read that putting new springs on the old shock will reduce the shock's life. I'm assuming that this is this true of the comptech or eibach springs. as a vendor of these springs, what would you respond to this? and what sorts of longevity decreases might one expect putting new springs on old shocks?

(for the record, i'm at about 8000 miles, '06)

Well, do you want to spend $150-250 on springs, or do you want to spend $800-1000 on coilovers with adjustable damping?

The argument is the former is the cheap option but you will still have the undamped rebound of the stock shocks - which is pretty piss poor, even by Honda engineering standards.
The latter gives you the option of setting the ride height to whatever you want, as well as control over the compression & rebound rate.

Those prices are not inclusive of fitting - you're looking about 2 hours to do all four corners plus alignment (included or extra depending on who you go to).

quick question. i am also a new tsx owner and was wondering if i were to replace the stock suspension with either coils or after-market springs, would they void my warranty? thanks!

ive got some tein h-tech springs that im in love with... i do bottom out relatively frequently but thats due to shitty atlanta streets and my driving style. as for the ride its firm but not too firm and you can feel the car respond better.
