Mounting steelies....to balance or not to balance...

This is probably a dumb question, but anyways...
I'll be mounting my steelies on tomorrow. Since I had them on my car last winter, would I need to have them balanced again for this winter or can I just mount them on? There were no problems in terms of vibration the last time I had them on.

You shouldn't have to rebalance them. Balancing is to account for minor variances in the tire/wheel combination. Once it is done with the tires mounted on the wheels, you shouldn't have to redo it.

Of course, if you notice a vibration, you'll have to rebalance. this could be the result of losing one of the weights that have been attached to the rim.

I have done alignments when I swap to my winter tires/wheels because they are different sizes.
