How long before shocks blow
Hey guys.
I just got my Eibach Pro-Kit springs in, but don't really have to cash for the shocks yet and I don't really care if i blow the shocks since the aftermarket ones aren't worth selling once there on.
The real question is does any one have a guess on how long the stock shocks would last? I live in Ottawa, Canada and the roads aren't all that great.
I'd love to get the springs on but if i have to wait i have to wait.
Thanks

I lasted a few months on stock shocks with Tein H-Tech springs. It was "ok" at best. Getting Tokico HP's (blues) made a huge difference and they've held up perfectly for a few years now.
If you don't want to have to do the full labour twice, just wait and install springs and shocks together. If you have to get lowered without upgraded shocks, you won't last long before feeling very bouncy and wanting aftermarket shocks anyhow... save yourself the time and just save up a few bucks for aftermarket shocks BEFORE installing the springs.
Or, save up for Hondata and get in on it with me this week.

I also didn't like the fear of not knowing when the stock shocks will blow. It's just a ticking time bomb, if I were to do it all over again, I would've done it all at once.

Tokico's do not have a harsh ride. When i go into my mazda 6 gt with stock suspension the difference is night and day. TSX is way for fun to drive now and i like the feeling it has going over the road.

Do not put Tokicos blues on stock springs. The combination is simply horrible. My TSX is bouncing all over the place. It's especially embarrassing at night with the HID going crazy up and down.
Not sure how they would do with stiffer springs. It seems like there would be an improvement per some reviews, but I have lost confidence in the Tokico brand based on my experience.
I'm now considering the A Spec combo. Will report when I have them installed.

Mike its because you still have the stock the springs. Swap them out like you should anyways when upgrading your struts, and you won't have that problem. There are 4 of us on here saying we have no bouncing at all and we all have after market springs. So therefore it is your setup only that sucks.

I have the Tokico HP's and Tein H-tech and there is definitely some bounce. I would not say it is horrible, but it is noticeable. Springs were on the car for 2 weeks and shocks for only a few days. My headlight is noticeably jumping when driving. To me it's not a big deal, but I do hope it settles a little after some time. I'm confused on why some people notice bounce and others do not?

My big objection to the Tokico's is that they were sold to me as OE replacements that could also be used with lowering springs. This is a pretty serious misrepresentation as far as I'm concerned...
