GoodYear Assurance TripleTred?

Does anyone have Good Year Assurance TripleTred on their car? After having the stock wheels on my TSX for 75 000 km, it's time for me to look for a new one. Are the TripleTred good on snow?

You might have some difficult time to ask a tire store to install them. Because TripleTred is H rated while stock tires is V rated. I think this is one of the most important factor to shop for a tire. Please correct me if this is wrong.

I just put an order for Goodyear Eagle ResponsEdge. Hopefully it perform well enough in snow. Good lucks with your search.

Don't get fooled by the marketing hype, the Assurance Triple Treads are all-seasons a.k.a. three seasons. I know they've tried to position these as an "all-weather tire" but really, they do not have the mountain/snowflake symbol on them so they shouldn't be better in snow than a standard M+S tire.

Somebody should post a link of the tread on these tires. I have these on my crv, and live in MI. These tires work well in snow from my experience. tripletred

If you want to use the BadYears for snow (which is an all-season), you probably wont find a winter-tire only rated higher than H.

My brother has Goodyear Triple Treds on his '99 Accord (uses them in the fall/winter instead of his Avon M500s) and has nothing but good things to say about them. Good rain traction, good snow traction, comfy ride (compared to the Avons), good treadwear. He lives in St. Paul, MN, sees plenty of snow and plenty of extreme cold. Big improvement over his stock Michelins in the snow/wet.

I had them on my '02 Solara for about a year (Nov-Nov). They were much superior in all conditions to the factory Bridgestone's.

Thanks for the replies. I think I'm going to get myself a set of these tires. The stock michellin MXM4 are horrible on snow.

Those who have access to Consumer Reports might look into it. Last year's tire review had the Triple Tred #1 I believe. In the Nov 06 (?) issue it's middle of the pack.

I'll wait to see how my first winter with the factory tires goes. I was initially upset with my Solara that the factory tires needed to be be replaced so soon (4yrs, less than 30k miles), though the TT's were SO much better, I was glad I had a good reason to get some new rubber. I think the rated tire life of the Michelin's is much better (60k miles?), I'm not thrilled with the idea of having to buy replacement tires for what will basically be brand new tires.

I had these on a Supercharged V6 Pontiac Grand Prix pushing over 300 at the wheels...these things did wonders in the snow...they are a great tire in all seasons....you won't be disappointed..

I went to Discount Tire to get these but they were on nation wide backorder due to a strike. I ordered Yokohama YK 520. 225/50R-17 93V B for the stock rims. It's got a good review so I got them. Anyone used them before?

They were exactly the same spec as the stock tires (215/50 17). The speed rating was only H though.

so they offer 215/50/17? i thought they didn't offer those sizes either. i have them on our CRV and they are pretty nice tires. sticks really well to rain/snow plus very good tread wear.
