Full Load Experiences

People with lowered suspensions, please post your experiences with a full load in your TSX.

For example, 5 adults and/or trunk full of stuff or any combination you may encounter.

What do you want to know?

I've had 4 people (my parents, my wife, and myself) in the car before, the car rides just about the same as if it was only me and my wife. No rubbing in the back.

Other than this, I haven't had a full load in my car since then. My parents bought an 05 Odyssey, so if we go out for dinner, they usually come pick us up (or we'll go to their place, then take their van out).

Eibach prokit: Had 4 adults and one todler, no rubbing. Had trunk FULL of groceries and some in the back seat, no rubbing. Even put a few bags on quickcrete in the trunk(gotta love that trunkliner) still no rubbing. Plus I have a box with a 12 that was in through all these rides. Only time it's close or may have rubbed is during hard braking with the 4 adults and toddler.

I want to know about rubbing issues and bottoming out when going over bumps and dips with a full load of people or stuff.

I always try to brake or swerve bumps but that's mainly because of aftermarket rims and low profile tires. I haven't had a problem with it but mainly with a car full of people I'm not really speeding and am easing over speedbumps and stuff.

Do any of you guys with coilovers raise your ride height ahead of time when you know you are going to have a full load?

Eibach Prokit on stock shocks here. I've had full load with 4 other passengers in the car, they weigh about 150 lb each on avg, was gonna shove another buddy in the trunk but didnt, now I think about it, maybe I should've done it so I'd know how low the back would get. But other than 5 people in the car, that's about 750 lb plus about 70lb worth of luggages in the trunk, that's about 820lb total. The front wasnt any lower while the back lowered quite a bit from 2 finger gap to barely 1 finger gap. Ride was significantly bouncier cuz of the stock shocks and there was no bottoming out at all when I went through bumps at fairly fast speed. There was also no rubbing issues, note that I'm running on a smaller diameter tire 225/40/18 offset +45

went camping once and had the car loaded with supplies, and had two other passengers. the car was pretty heavy, cause you could see the gap between the tires shrink drastically. but had no problem with bumps or anything. so all was fine.

What suspension setup do you have?

SPC camber replacing stock upper control arm. They're dialed in at -0.7 rear left and -1.0 rear right.

correct me if i'm wrong... but don't the lowering kit springs come with a load in mind? meaning the kit is going to replace springs that can handle load X... so this lowered spring is going to be that much more stiffer to handle load X.

the only time you should get rubbing is if you take existing springs... and cut them to achieve the lowered look. the spring stiffness remains the same but now has less travel to handle load... hence it will rub.
