Front Sway Bar 26.5mm thick

Quick question for you suspension experts, I did a search on the front sway bar for the TSX, it's at 26.5mm thick. Wouldn't it make the TSX handle a lot more neutral to have the same thickness sway bar in the rear or even thicker? What are the downsides to that though?

Actually, I think it is 25.4mm and the stiffer the rear, the more likely that it will bust out on you... not something you'd want for the general population to have, which is why I'm guessing that they put as small a sway bar as they did OEM on the rear.

well weight distribution and ride dynamics aren't the same front and back, so simply having equal thickness sway bars isn't a magical solution for handling. Most every car has a bigger front sway bar than rear, in good part to prevent oversteer. Having a thicker rear bar than stock, or even Comptech/Progress sized would be good for the TSX, but so far, no one has done it.

I was thinking about the same, thicker in the rear, more neutral? But for some reason, I'm wondering if going too thick in the rear will actually be bad for handling? Even with thicker RSB, I don't see a FWD oversteering too much to be dangerous though...

A FWD can certainly become dangerous by oversteering too much. For one, FWD are more sensitive to throttle-steer, but also, with a massively thick RSB, the ass end will be too solid, and without extremely sticky tires, the ass end will break traction very quickly and just end up whipping around with little or no control.

Perfect handling is almost always seen as being neutral with a hint of oversteer. Not oversteer-as-much-as-possible.
