Factory Rim Damage

I have some curb abrasion damage on my factory rims. I was curious if anyone knew whether the rims are painted, have some kind of protective coating. I can smooth out the damage and refinish the rim myself, I just wanted to know if they have some kind of clearcoat on them. My lease is up in 6 mos. I want to get this done as early as possible w/o paying someone to do it. Any help would be much appreciated guys.

I pretty much doubt that you can do it yourself. you two best ideas is to either take it to a rim repair place or to buy a new oem rim off ebay. you can sometimes find a single one on ebay for less than 100 some times.

I would just buy a new OEM... you can find them pretty cheaply a lot of the time
