Question Decided on my new tires and wheels, what do you guys think?

After much research the last few days or so. I think I have finally made a final (for now anyways) decision on what to get. I decided to go as hassle free with this by just getting all done through www.tirerack.com. Just wondering what everyone's thoughts were on how well the sizes will work ok and all that. Just so you all know, I think the stock wheels are ok. I'm mainly buying to get more performance out of this upgrade. I've decided to stick with 17's also. My car which I will hopefully finally get next week, is an 06 CGP with A-Spec suspension.

Wheels: 17x7.5 Gram Lights 57s Wheel Offset +48

http://www.tirerack.com/servlet/Call...&showRear=null

Tires: 235/45HR17 Bridgestone Potenza G 009

So any thought's on this would be greatly appreciated! Also I just remembered, I don't plan on any spoilers or body kits at all. Just some 35% tint all the way around. I might add an M3 Spoiler but I'm not sure.

Will the sizes look ok and gel ok all things considered? Thanks alot guys!

BTW I just looked up the stock tires at tirerack, and these things have gotten TONS of bad reviews! I can't wait to see how much better the ride will be with much better wheels and tires on!

In case anyone wanted to know, here's a quick link to the stock tires for the 06 at tirerack...

The 57s has a lip so a 17" wheel will look like a 16" wheel, it'll be way too small. If you have to get a 17" wheel I'd find one w/o a lip, or move up to a 18" for the 57s

hey man, i don't really think you will like 17 teens on your ride, i put 18 teens on mine yesturday and they look real small, i will have to lower my car about 2 inches to make them stand out. plus those tires got real bad reviews, but than again you just might like them on your car.

Xizor, do you think 17" SSR Comps would have the same problem? I'm running A-Spec supension, if that matters.

Bridgestone Potenza G 009 looks like the review says it all, going 17x7.5 is not that bad might look ok if you have 2" drop without bodykit.

IMO yes, you can check out TSX Hokie's ride for 17" SSR Comps w/ A-Spec. I had 17" volks w/ Eibach Pro-Kit and CCColtsicehokey had 17" volks w/ Tein Flexs. IMO 17" wheels w/ a lip just look too small.

For comparison, here is 18x7.5 225/40/18 SSR Comps on Eibach Pro-Kit

^^Thanks, Xizor. I'd really like to stick to 17," so I'll keep looking. Sounds like wheels without the polished lip is the way to go.

Thanks everyone for all the replies. I have the correct link for the wheels...

http://www.tirerack.com/wheels/Displ...t+Grey+Painted

In regards to the wheels looking to small, this can be a matter of opinion. I should have said that the look of the stock wheels and tires looks ok to me on the 06. Now I realize alot of members in this forum are a bit obsessed with having minimum 18 inch wheels and really low to the ground cars or whatever. And having body kits and all kinds of parts all over the place. But like I was saying, I think the TSX looks great as it is in stock form. I'm ok with keeping that look. I'm only looking to buy wheels and tires for better performance. I like the look of the 57s's and I'd prefer to keep em at 17 inches. So I guess what I'm really wanting to know, is with the wheels and tires I have selected, will they look at least comparable to how it looks stock? And might I run into any issues with the tire size I have selected being on that size rim? If it looks comparable to stock, that's ok with me. Everyone has different opinions on how BIG a wheel should look, or how LOW to the ground a car has to be. Also, speedytsx, can you tell me where these tires got really bad reviews? The only place I was able to find any reviews on them was at tirerack. As far as what I read there theyve gotten great reviews for the most part. Thanks again guys for all the help

I have no idea on your tire choice though.
Here's a recent review of mine with the yokohama Avid V4's. Excellent tire IMHO. It's recommended by many members here along with the avon M550's.

Well, I did alot more research today on all of this. Alin10123, thanks for your help on this, I did read up on your reviews of the V4's and they do sound like great tires from what I have read from you and others. I did also look into those M550's and I think I should go with those now.

So now I'm thinking keep the same wheels, the 17x7.5 Gram Lights 57s Wheel Offset +48. And for tires go with the Avon Tech M550 A/S 215/50WR17 tires. This should work out great I would think. I wouldn't think I'd have any problems at all since these are about as close to stock as I can get. The only difference being the +48 offset as opposed to stock +55. And the wheel being 7.5 inches wide as opposed to the stock 7 inches. Plus with these rims weighing about 17.5 pounds I would think I'd be alot more impressed with how much better the car will handle. Any other comments or suggestions anyone? Maybe I should go with a slightly different tire size or whatever? Say a 225/45WR17? Or a 235/45/WR17? Thanks again for all the help so far.
