BTW, kinda surprised the AofE rep didn't catch on when you described the "cracks".

As I mentioned a few months ago, the bushings that came with the comptech sway bar were completely worn out in a matter of months. They started squeaking a week or two after I initially installed the bar, so I took them off and lubed them. But then after only a couple months I started getting a noticeable clunk. After investigating the problem for several hours, I figured out that the bushing material had acutally extruded out of the inside, which caused a lot of slop, and hence the loud clunk.
Well, when I replaced the bushings a few months ago I held the old and new bushings next to eachother for some comparison photos:
The first shot shows how the material in the bushing has just squeezed out from the inside around the bar. The second shot is a little harder to see, but you can tell the hole from the worn out bushing is noticably bigger. When I compared them myself, the ID of the old bushing was nearly 2mm (0.079") bigger than the new ones.
I think comptech used a bushing material that was too soft for the TSX application. The new Energy Suspension parts have been perfect since I installed them. No squeaks or clunks, and the bar seems to perform better too.
I am happy with the Comptech bar, but if I anyone is ordering one today, be sure to use Energy Suspension bushings instead.

Hey Dan~
Did you order your RSB from the States or in Toronto?? i got mine from TSXParts, and they shipped w/ USPS (also my DC Header), and only charged a reasonable amount of tax (unlike UPS). Where did you install your RSB??? By yourself or @ a shop???? How much?? My RSB is still sitting @ home waiting to get install.

The bushings came from Summit Racing in the US and I think the grand total was about $40CDN shipped and in my hands.

If you order from Summit Racing, search for part# ENS-9-5126G

For the record, the Progress RSB comes with poly bushings, good grease, and is adjustable. 2 months and no pops at all. All-in-all, a great package right out of the box, and feels great on the car.

Hey guys,
I just finished my Comptech RSB install with ES Polyurethane Bushings. I took it for a test drive and immediately experienced some noise. I'm not too sure whether it is the infamous squeak, but I would have to say it sounds more like a popping or clicking noise.
After a quick drive around the neighborhood, I went back and torqued everything. To my dismay, the same noise occured. I can't seem to pinpoint the problem, but I also wonder if I had purchased the correct grease. I went to the local Pepboys and picked up one of these:
If that is the incorrect lubricant to use, will somebody tell me what kind I'm suppose to purchase?
Thanks!

I'm no lube expert...that sounds weird, but I used lithium grease and it's done the trick so far.
I got mine at Autozone, but here is a nice little set with a grease gun at Sears.

Thanks for the reply, I just called Sears and they carry lithium grease as well. Since it's Sunday, all the stores are closed by now, so I will just have to wait. I hope that it's just the bushings making the noise, but the noise is more of a popping sound .

Some people use lithium grease as that's what most auto part stores carry. I use Formula 5 prelube which is made specially for poly bushings. You have to go to shops that sell poly bushing products to find them or use the posted link above. They come in small white tubes or a yellow container.
