Because I didn't want anything too nuts. I drive a lot for work, but I love the lowered look and feel of coil-overs.

I was considering the A Spec suspension, so it's really interesting to me that you switched.

What didn't you like about the A Spec?

What do you like more about the Teins?

Looks good, by the way.

I liked the A Spec, but I wanted something a little bit firmer and that handled awesome. So far, the Teins, have been great. I came from a slammed Jetta and I loved the ride. I guess I just had to go lower.

I'm getting an '06 as soon as the dealership gets a hold of one (PWP) for me. I was actually thinking of getting the A-spec suspension this time around. I had comptech springs on my '04 and the drop with said springs looks like the drop you got from Tein's. I'm having second thoughts about A-spec now...

Sweet! My Tein SS kit has been in for 1 week now and I love it as well. I had the dampening on all 4 corners set to 8 clicks from hardest (which is right in the middle for the SS and is the dampening your Basics are set at) all week and really can tell how how much handling has improved. Yesterday I tried softening them up a bit by riding around on 10 clicks from hardest and didn't like it. I have them back on 8 clicks now because it seems to be a very good trade off between handling/performance and ride comfort. It's much more fun driving now than when it was stock.

I could have bought the Basics and been thoroughly happy because I have the SS set at the same dampening setting. I don't feel any regret though. I like knowing I can easily change dampening when I want.

Anyway, good luck with the new coilovers.

Yeah, I almost bought the SS's because of that exact reason but from reading on here everyone said how good the ride was and I just went with my gut and decided on the Basics. So far, its been a great choice. I really didn't need the different dampening settings. One seems to be fine because Im not going to the track or anything like that.
Im not sure if that made sense due to the fact Im still waking up from being drunk last night.
