clunking noise after sportline install?

I just got my sportlines and camber installed and when i go over medium to large bumps with some speed I hear a "klunk" noise coming from behind me. I cant remember if i read somewhere that it could be because the sportlines were a lot shorter than my stock springs. Can anyone confirm this?

do you have a rear sway bar?

you were correct about how much shorter the rear springs are than the OEMs. What happens is that w/ the stock rear sway there is too much travel in the suspension. When you go over a bump and your rear completely uncompresses, the shock will travel so far that the spring has 0 pressure on it and is loose in the spring seats. Then the suspension compresses and the spring reseat, causing the clunking noise.

A rear sway will limit the amount of travel in the rear. Getting one fixed the clunking I was having w/ my prokit, but it would still clunk rarely, like in emergency braking where all of the weight of the car is forward then settles, but daily it was great. The sportlines are lower than the prokit so I don't know if it'll help to the same extent, but it certainly will help.

I would recheck all the bolts, take the rear seat bolsters out
and check the top strut bolts too. Be sure inner toe link cam bolt
does not turn when tightening the nut.

Otherwise I don't believe any spring should be run without
Nuespeed/koni struts which are 20mm shorter.

My comptech 110-160's seemed to install on stock struts ok
but then after initial sag, they fitted loosely onto Nuespeed struts later.
I installed them onto the Nuespeed without spring compressors and
these are shorter struts!
That is loose and sportline is even lower.

The ride height of the sportline is lower than most springs and the length is also shorter than stock. However, it doesn't mean that the spring will sit loose on the spring perch, because there are enough dead coils on the spring to take up the slack. Spring compressors are still required to remove them but it doesn't need much compressing.
