Exclamation Can I use a 67.1 mm Centerbore wheel??

Hi folks,

I have a set of 16x7 steel wheels, 40mm offset, 5x114.3 bolt pattern, and 67.1 mm centerbore. They are off a Toyota Rav4.

I know our stock centerbore is 64.1 mm. Will I be able to bolt up these new winter wheels and not have any problems considering the difference in centerbore size?

I've searched all the threads, but nothing that really talks about this specifically.
thx.

You'll want hubcentric rings. Even the minimal difference in hub size could mean that there is a little bit of vibration at speed.

Thanks. Has anyone used wheels with a centerbore size of 67.1 mm without the rings?

(just wondering how much vibration there could be)

If you use some lug nuts that are tapered 'lug centric' and you do your initial tightening of the wheels in the air you will be fine and wont have to use a hubcentric ring. BTW almost any aftermarket lugs you can buy will be tapered.

That's great news. Are the stock '04 lug nuts "lug centric" ?

Good aluminum rings are less than $20 for 4, it's cheap insurance.

I've read that the "plastic" ones are better because if you get any moisture between the aluminium rings and the hub, it will cause corrosion and you'll have a heck of a time getting them off. Do you use aluminium rings?
