However, my front setting now is +6 (total is 16) away from the full stiffness, and the rear setting is +5 away from the full stiffness, and I have no problem with it.

After you get a feel of it, start playing with different setting in front/rear, take your car to some rough surface road to test drive, took some fast corner too to see if that's the stiffest you want. Repeat it several times and you will find the best combo. It took me about 2+hrs to test around to find the best setting.
Pre-load spring set is the "extra" avaliable height adjustment if you want to lay super low on your car, but it will seriously affect the ride comfort.
