Best Tires

Any thoughts on what would be the best tires to get for handling and overall performance?
Thanks

well... it depends

i have 2 sets of tires... so i get a tire that rates really high in 2 types of conditons... i have good winter set and another set for the rest of the year (aka summer tires which are great in anything but snow).

so what are you looking at as far as weather is concerned.

Toyo Proxes T-1s and Pirelli P-Zero Nero are excellent tires. The P-Zero Nero also comes in an all season version which has longer treadlife and doesn't sacrifice too much on performance for it.

These tires are also lighter than stock, so you should feel a bit more pep as well.

I have the T1-S's on my Miata and they are truly a great performance tire... light, compliant, and very sticky.

Today I put a set of 215-50ZR17 Firestone Firehawk SZ50's on my TSX .. haven't had a chance to wear off the mold-release compound yet but they ride as smooth as the dreadful OEM M+S Michelins and are every bit as quiet. They are rated highly by owners who responded to the Tire Rack ultra-high performance category survey, and were on sale there for just $88 each.

I hope to have a chance to test their limits later this week on some of the local backroads.

Yup, T1-S=$$$

I got 2 for free and the others I bought on sale from one of the online vendors in Canada. Too bad Tire Rack doesn't carry them as they certainly have competitive prices and exceptional customer service. I would have gotten a set for the TSX except that I couldn't find a good inexpensive source.

Try Yokohama AVS ES100, I changed mine and they are great!
I feel a lot of confidence on the backroads now nad they are very sticky. Mine are 215/50/17.
