Is Anybody Running 960AS

Bridgeston Potenza RE960AS 215/50-17

I called Tire Rack & they said its the best All-Season that fits the TSX.

I dont see to many people running them. Does anybody have any experience with these tires.

I just bought a set of these tires for my fiance's civic and thus far I love them. I havent had the chance to drive in any heavy rain but they handle great in the cold weather and in light snow.

this one is on my top of list for next tire. it also has load rating of XL. i currently have 225/45/17 kumho asx but planning to go back to stock size for little more comfort. only negative side about this tire is its high price. $150ea at TireRack. local tire shops estimated $180ea installed.

other one i'm considering is goodyear assurance tripletread. little cheaper than 960as and have really high tread wear.

Im Comming from Yokohama Avid V4S I swore by those tires but as the wear they become crappy.
This Tire has Bridgestones Dual Tread compound. So as it wears it exposes a new sticker compound to compensate for the lack of tread.

I had a set of these on my Grand Prix and they were awesome tires..handled the rain, and snow wonderfully, on dry pavement I was not overly impressed, but they still handled well for an all season tire.

i currently have them on my CR-V and they sticks very well. treadwear is very good too. but concern is tsx is sportier and wonder how it'll handle since goodyear is categorized as just "all-season" compared to "ultra high performance all-season" for 960AS.

Not really a fan of goodyear. Im 100% sure im going to pick up the 960's from tire rack in about a week or so. I just wanted to know if they were as good as the tire rack said they were.

Ill let you guys know how they are once they are mounted & balanced. I plan to get an algnment because the Yokos are worn more on one side. I hope my car falls under that alignment TSB. Im about 5k out of warranty I may Have to write a few letters to get it approved.

I have consider this as well. The only thing bugs me is the weight of the tire. 26lb vs 23lb oem. still looking.

So... 3 lb per side, 12 lb total. I heard that the wheels need to spin extra 12 lb is diffrence. I am not sure X4 or X8. You just carry a full size tire with rim around other than the five you already have. Other than that, i think it is the best all season tire around.

a friend of mine has these on his accord with silverstars and loves them. I just cant justify spending $600 plus for tires. even though I mount and balance myself.

I might just go with the bridgestone potenza g009 but thats only $80 less than the 960's.

don't like the tread design of g009. might as well get 960AS for extra $80

the g009's are a good tire, but like stated only $80 less than 960's. I have driven cars with the 009's and they seem pretty good. I am wondering if the 960's will last long. I need longevity of tires.

Don't torture me. I've been eyeing those RE960's, or ADVAN s4's for a while, waiting for winter to end - but they're $1,200 CDN for a set! Okay, that's not your fault, but recognize a good price for what seems like a great tire that will actually last, and buy them.

Two points, really. Americans have great tire options, at reasonable prices (they're only 1/2 price in my mind, obviously), so there should be no complaints: an $80 premium/set for brand B vs brand A, over 4 years, is $5/tire/yr. Second, even with a 20% exchange rate, your price for those Bridgestones is about $100 PER TIRE less - that's $400 per set: this is a perfect example of where Canadians are getting hosed, but here there is an option that should be exercised; regardless of whether it's the manufacturer or the dealer which sets the prices, those Canadians on this board should smarten-up and mail-order from the US, - or haggle!

Personnally, the 23lb weight of the Michelin Pilot Exalto AS caught my eye. I'm just not going to bother figuring out how I get them until after the spring thaw rush.

Just got a set yesterday in the OEM size. I don't have enough miles for a comprehensive review, but I have to say that the car feels lighter on its feet. The steering is a little lighter and turn-in is quicker. They are much quieter, but maybe a bit more harsh over uneven surfaces. Then again, that last may be due to overinflation as I haven't had a chance to check them yet. I got 48k miles out of the OEMs, while these are guaranteed for 40k miles - a reasonable trade-off for the better handling.

oem is really soft compared to other tires i tried. but that could be due to overinflation. tire shops fill it around 34~36 if you dont specify. with oem size it should be 32 front and 30 rear as you might know. give us more impression about this tire later on.

thats because of exchange rate and different money value. something out of topic for this thread regarding RE960AS. should be talked over economics or international finance forums

I am still up in the air on these tires myself. I have to fix one of my Silverstar wheels anyway so I have time.

I am either going with the 960's, g009's, or contiextremecontact

Neither the g009's nor the ExtremeContact comes with XL load rating.

I had the extremecontacts on my previous car (Passat V6 - 205/55/16 V rated) and on my wife's IS300 - they wore out very fast (21K on the IS300 with no aggressive driving 215/45/17 W rated on the IS), had flat spotting problems in the mornings and also poor cornering stability as it has soft sidewalls. I would NOT recommend this tire for ANY car.

I am aware of the XL load rating. But from what I have read its not a HUGE deal if you stray away from XL rating

i have no confidence on the oem. turanza LS-V or 960 A/S are my choice but don't know which one has better winter performance

its been too long since i had oem tires so its hard to compare. but when i had loaners before oem seems to be softer riding and gives cushier ride. i have 225/45/17 and that might make it little harder than 215/50/17. i'm planning to go back to 215/50/17 for my next new tire.

I just put the 960AS on over the weekend. So far I am really impressed with how much quieter they are than the OEM's. Has anyones noticed a drop in gas mileage with 960s? I took a 300 mile trip the day after I installed them and averaged about 3mpg less than usual.
