I just picked up a set of 17" A-Spec wheels for my TSX. I currently have Yokohama AVID ENVigor in 225/45-17 that's about 2/3 worn and wanted to increase the diameter slightly to 235/45-17 to better match the OEM tire diameter. Which All Season tires have raised rim guards? I think the ENVigor has recessed rim guard and I wasn't too impressed with their ability to protect the rim.

I'm pretty sure those wheels are 7" wide which is really too narrow for a 235/45 tire (and actually borderline for the 225/45, though I know that's what Honda recommends). The 235/45x17 is OE on the 4th gen TL and those came with 8" wheels (I don't know what's on the new ones). I'd suggest sticking with the OE size (215/50) if you going to stay with those narrow wheels. If you do proceed with your plan, you're going to have enough sidewall bulge (wide tire, narrow wheel) to most likely negate the need for a raised rim guard on the tire.

They are 7.5" wide which are wide enough for 235s. It seems that folks on these forum have installed these rims with this size tires on the 1G TSX without significant issues. I've decided to go with Kumho ASX which have been favorably reviewed and do come with rim protectors.
