+40 mm offset... help!

I'm looking to get some OZ's for my '06, probably the Superturismo GT's. No plans to drop the car. The wheel dimensions are 18x8, +40 mm offset.

Will I have rubbing problems? Anyone have experience with these specific dimensions? What dimension tires should I use (that will also give me minimal issues with the speedo)?

Thanks in advance...

1st the car will look like a 4x4 if you don't lower it when plus sizing the rims and tires.

2nd the rims will probably be sticking out of the fender

3rd it will not rub if you don't lower it.

4th read the stick in this section of the forums:

48 offset is ideal for a TSX. Lower 40's is hit and miss when it comes to rubbing and how agressive the lowering is.

For a tire size, I believe 215-45-18 comes closest to stock.

you are not likely to rub if you don't drop the car, but you will look like a 4x4

Yeah, you would def have to drop it a decent amount for it to look decent.

Also, in relation to tires... the optimum size for tires are 235/40/18's but you would have to go with 225/40/18's to alow for the drop and offset. Not a bad thing though, you just have a slightly smaller sidewall.

I have OZ Canyons that are 18x8 with 40 offset. I'm running 215/45-18 and I have no issues with rubbing. I went with that tire size because it was closest to stock and also due to the offset of the wheels I wanted. My car is also not lowered. I can post a pic of my car if you are interested.

Negrocowboys, remember what I was telling you today (and I kinda stole it from xizor ) but fit is subjective when it comes to this stuff, so keep that in mind when you ask this.

Thanks man, I'll def keep that in mind... by the way, you have a sweet ride. I'll have to check it out once you get the wheels (and bumpers!) on.

Eeyore, I'd definitely like to see pics of your car with the Canyons. A front view would be great; I'm really curious as to how far the wheels protrude outside the fenders. A side view would also be great. Thanks...
