+35mm Offset for 19x8s, will this work???
Okay I got a quote, $1450 for 19x8 BSA 291 Rims in Silver on Falken 225-35/19 Tires. Problem is the offset is +35mm. Guy at the shop swears it will fit perfectly flush with the vehicle (which is what I want); keep in mind I will be doing Comptech Springs/Rear Camber shortly after. From what I've been reading though that +35mm offset just sure as hell wont work. He swears it'll fit perfect. This is from www.Bestwheel.com got it trhough this month's edition of sportcompactcar. I need oppinions... I'm mostly worried about that offset... If i'm reading the wheel fitment guide correctly... this simply will not work. Need opinions before I order please.

I dont know for some reason I dont really trust his tone. I dont care tho so long as they fit. But we have wheel guru's on the board that have experience in this stuff and should know before I go waste my time and order these. Next thing you know he starts singing that he wont refund my money and just give me an exchange or something. I dont like anything esle they have to offer; I dont wanna screw myself outat 1500 for something that doesn't look good or fit right. I worked too hard for this cash to half ass it... so i'm doing my research... guys give me some good advice... fit? yaay or nayy?

I say no too...
my TE37 is 7.5" wide + 40 offset, it sticks out few mm already
so, even if no rubbing, you are expecting the wheel gonna stick out for about 15mm more?

Looking at those... is 5x114 the same thing as 5x114.3?

I know there was someone with a 40 mm offset wheel but not sure if it was 7.5 or 8 inch wide. And i know there are some 18*8s with a 45 offset, so i would trying and find somethin around mid to upper 40's, possibly you could squeeze a 42 under there but i would try and find a 45 or higher.
About ebay....as far as i know those are the same measurements

just make sure the olffset is correct i saw those and emailed him and the first time he said he didnt know and to contact axis, so you might want to double check his offset measurment, in that sixze they only come in 35 and 45

Cool now my only concern with the ones on e-bay is wether or not thats hyper silver or hyper black. Hyper silver would be fine... but thy look too dark to be hyper silver... dont they?

mine is +40, but 7.5 width
I heard this from a friend but I am not sure how valid this is:
He told me that some cheaper wheels actually manufactured as 114, not 114.3. You can still fit those on 114.3 pattern, but u definitely need a hub ring, and they are not perfect fit.
(don't flame me on this if this is wrong)

u say not a perfect fit. what is the effect of that mis/matched fit? will they fall off on me? do they wobble? is it unsafe? what would that fit effect?
Axis rims are i thought one of the better 'name' companies out there... i'm not sure but i dont think they would drill em' cheapily (if i'm making any sense here)

I crunched some numbers for you from this site
(vs. the stock 215/50/17 17x7 +55 stocks)
225/35/19 19x8 +35
Your wheel will stick out 1.287in more than stock
225/40/18 18x7.5 +42 (my SSRs, which barely tuck under)
Your wheel will stick out 0.761in more than stock
215/50/17 17x7.5 +40 (SAZABI's TE37 which stick out slightly)
Your wheel will stick out 0.84in more than stock
225/35/19 19x8 +45 (the ebay ones)
Your wheel will stick out 0.893in more than stock
225/42/19 19x8 +42 (dzuy's)
Your wheel will stick out 1.011in more than stock
From the sound of it, those +35 are going to be way way out. dzuy said he has no problems rubbing w/ a drop and his 19", so up to that is probably reasonable.
And IMO 235/35/19 is a better size for a 8" wide wheel. You get more thread, and ~0% speedo error, unless it'd make the wheels rub, who knows.

Here's a tip dzuy: You don't have to hit the "Post Quick Reply" button every time you want a new line. The enter button on your keyboard works wonders.

You guys were a great help. Thanks. I think I'm gonna go with Hagens in a+45 offset... just gotta save up a bit more. My e-bay account is suspended beacuse i owe ebay .5cents... I've just been too lazy to update my billing info on it and my credit card payment of 5 cents wont clear by the time that auction ends... (sucks) But thats okay beacuse I wanna wait till I head up to Orlando this weekend to check out Brian and see what he can do for me.
