2004 s200 wheels?

is the only way we can fit them is if we have two sets of the front wheel?

now that i have hondata - i want some smaller wheels for daily.

i dont care what anyone says - about how volks are lighter blah blah blah.

i know my car is faster w/ the smaller wheels w/o any doubt in my mind.

maybe i'll dump the 19's and pick up a set of 17 inch volks?

Do you think the perceived increase in performance could also be b/c when you switched back to the stock 17s, you were running 215 width tires vs. your 235s on the Volks? Therefore, the reason why your car was able to peel out easier with the 17s was because of the narrower 215s rather than the overall mass issue of 19" vs. 17" rims?

no.

b/c it the car felt faster with 17 inch wheels than 19's.

i can still burn the hell out of my 19 inch tires.

hell, i can still chirp the tires shifting into 3rd.

as i said a million times - since the wheel is larger - you now have to spin weight farther out from the center - which causes the car to be slower.

i dont know why that is such a hard concept to grasp on this forum.

do you see any drag cars goin down the strip with 19 inch volk,s?

i dont think so.

Relax. I just asked a question. No need to get all pissy about it. FWIW, I agree with what you are saying. Afterall, on your other thread, I pointed out that the project RSX on Sports Car Revolution lost 10 hp on the dyno after switching to lighter, but larger and wider rims/tires. Therefore, I stated that weight alone may not be the only determining factor in how much power is gained or lost.

The comment about 19" Volks on a drag racing car is irrelevant. They wouldn't use any 19" rims b/c drag racers want to get the widest tire possible with a fairly tall profile so that the car can hook up better off the line.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...

Volk GT-V in 18" (Mercury Silver, of course)

Smaller than your 19"s, better looking than the OEMs and the S2Ks, lighter than all of them.

I have to wipe off everytime I see those wheels.

Lighter, but not by much. Remember that all GT series wheels are 2-piece forged, but only the "rim" part is forged. The "disk" (center, spokes, whatever you call it) is cast. My 19" GT-7 and tires combo weighs just about the same as the stock wheels.

I'll beat you at the track (road course, not 1/4-mile) with my stock (no engine mod yet) TSX on heavy 19's.

or do you want to run against my Prelude? Drag, road course, auto-x, doesn't matter. Just pick one!

The only drag racers interested in a "tall" profile are those with super high horsepower applications. For the other 95% of us a shorter profile is better as it improves gearing, is lighter, and lowers the front end of the car more.
