06 TSX Just ordered some Nitto Motivos

Anyone have any experience with these tires? Read a few threads and people seemed to like them.

Coming from some Falken 912's which only lasted 2 years, 30k miles. Running 215/50/17.

Looks like a new tire. Never had Nitto's before but I do see them on a lot of tuned cars.

They should arrive next Tuesday and will probably have them installed that weekend. I will post my initial impressions.

Finally got these guys mounted. Apparently techs don't like to work in hurricanes either.

Got them mounted and balanced with an alignment.

First impressions is... QUIET! I mean... quiet.
When I first mounted the Falken 912's they were ok but you could still hear them on the highway. These Motivos don't make anywhere near the same amount of tire drone, more of a soft shhhh sound, which is probably the TSX poor noise isolation.

After sitting for a day they had flat spots which quickly worked themselves out. I plan to put some more air in them, I guess the Techs just put factory specs for the inflation.

So I didn't actually get to drive the first 100 miles on them sadly. The wife brilliantly locked her keys inside her car, so I took the truck (nothing special) and she picked it up. The only input I got from her is she was zooming in and out of traffic, Did Not complain of noise or being crap, so I guess she likes them!

To me the 15 miles I got to drive on them so far is they feel a little soft, which may be due to the lower air pressure. They respond well, I didn't really feel any floaty grip but I need more miles on them. Not driven hard on them yet, but the wife did and no complaints.

So far I like them a lot. Better than the Falkens and the OE Michelins.
I asked the owner of the shop (Piedmont Tire and Auto in Gainesville VA) and he liked the look of them, without reading any labels stated it looked like a 60k mile tire and liked the tread. He may be pulling my leg but I'll take the compliment.

Quick update. 700 miles on them since install. Still very very quiet. Ride quality is fantastic at 40psi. Handling is great for every day driving, but when I ask them to perform they do. Accelerated through a hard right turn and felt like I was glued to the pavement.

They promote confidence at 80mph on open highway and I don't experience any wander. Lane changes are responsive.

Been through some wet and no problems whatsoever.
Looking forward to seeing how they work in some light snow and slush this winter.

Very happy with these tires so far

40psi seems really hi. It may seem like it rides and handles fine, but running pressures that high can compromise wet handling, and can considerably reduce any warning you might get near the limit (in other words, one second you're going straight, two seconds later you're going sideways)(especially if you're one of those that like to run with the VSA off). You may want to try it with the tires at like 35 and see how that feels.

Tried 35psi. I didn't notice any difference really. I mostly drive highway commuting as my daily driver. I like the firmer feel of the road anyways and actually settled on 37 psi as suggested from my shop that mounted them.

Thanks for the suggestion.
