05 Acura TSX tires
My new 05 TSX 6MT with Navi Black/Ebony will be in on the 18th from the factory. I am trying to decide if I should put different tires (wider) on it right when I get it. Anyone have some suggestions on tires to get if I do so, or should I keep the stock tires?

I don't recommend putting wider tires on the factory rims, but if you're changing rims then go for it. My next tires will be Fuzion ZRi in 215/50/17 and keeping my stock rims.

I'd buy stock size, but a better compound, to avoid potential issues with flexing sidewalls from wider tires on OE rims. OEM Michelins really suck, so it is still a major improvement and one you can see if you need to improve upon before going full out with new rims etc.

you mean mount a wider tire, like 225 or 235 on stock rim? i have tried that before, it does not look so good. the tire bubble out a little bit, and though you may notice improved traction, the steering wheel and whatever they do to tune the tire width and steering feelnig get thrown off. After I tried it, my steering wheel have more plays in them, they feel lighter and have more movement from left to right while driving and especially when u brake. It lacks that on center feel from factory. If you were to do it, get new rims and tires.
HOWEVER! i have tried put new rims and tires. 18 inches with 225 or 235 series tires i forgot. it is better than just putting a fatter tire on stock rim. however, i still got more play and slightly loose that on center feel. though having a new rim and tire package is significantly than just putting a fat tire on the stock wheel.. at the end i just end up putting stock rim and tire back.. though doesnt look as good, but i love that straight, steady on center feel...

The tires go for $88/pc at TireRack and I think most shops will charge $40-$60 for mounting and balancing for the set. So you're probably just over $400 for the set. You can sell your stock rubber and recover most that cost.
Wheel locks are easy to install, they're just a nut that require a keyed socket.

We still don't know if the compound is the same, though.

Bridgestone, they are summer tires. For about the same price or a LITTLE more, check out the new KUMHOs line up.
