04 TSX, new struts, how much???
i believe i need to get new struts, 04 TSX, 90k miles. not riding smooth at all anymore, every time i hit a bump, it feels like it wants to throw me off the road. i'm assuming this would be struts? i also need new brakes badly. any idea how much struts are going to cost me?
thanks!
thanks!

I got 4 new Tokico HP ("Blues") for $400 ($105/front, $95/rear). Great OE-replacement or mild upgrade for a moderate drop on lowering springs.
The ride is a LOT better now with these than the OEM shocks with the Tein H-Tech springs. I was "forced" into the upgrade (oh darn... ) when my RF shock was damaged in an accident.

Oh and those prices are just for the part. I installed them myself (took some work but was do-able if you have the spring compressor and mechanical aptitude).

Anybody else got any recommendations? I'm in the same spot as orig poster, about 90k with a rough ride over bumps. Looking for a slight upgrade over OEM, but nothing crazy. Right now, car is stock except for a rear sway bar.
Any advice would be appreciated.

You think the A-Spec is a better upgrade then the Tokico Blues? Also, do I need to replace the springs, or can I leave the OEM ones on with the new struts? Is it recommended to do the springs & struts at the same time?

You won't notice too much of an upgrade difference with just struts on the stock springs. If you think you want to do both springs and struts, do both at once to save labour costs of getting one done than the other.

Tein h-tech is a moderate drop. After getting them installed, wait about a month for it to settle before getting an alignment. Keep in mind lowering the car generally you will have a bit stiffer ride on rougher roads.

I'd say H-Tech (Tein) -- 1.1" front, 0.7" rear. Subtle but effective drop. S-tech were a bit too low for my liking, and considering I need to drive the car 365 days a year, including in snowstorms, I didn't want to plow the city streets on my own.
