That's pretty impressive since they make like 255hp.

And nice kill on the XRS, though your camera man has a serious case of the shakes. Needs a tripod.

BTW, what was the little blue light on top of your car?
Yeah, sorry about that shaking.

Woulda been a lot better if I was filming, but then..

Thanks guys..

It was a 2G teg. LS or something.

No challenge there, but the guy wanted to race and get me racing, so I played along.

Gee, I

I guess the werd is practice, practice, practice.

I also have the advantage that I nearly live in my car, so I know the car pretty well. I guess it might give me a break with my launches.

Actually, the vid is a little deceiving. I was dead even at the start with the CTS, but then he inched away at me.

We ended the race , I was at his back bumper.

I was somewhat bummed, because if I hadn't messed up the first race, I would've had him. But at least, the second race was maybe more representative of what the CTS could do, and after thinking about it, there's hardly anything wrong with losing a race against a RWD 285hp car by just a car's length.

I did however have slightly too much wheelspin. Track surface was cooling.

quick question, not trying to thread jack just curious about this.
earlier in the thread it says to spin the tires, i dunno if im doing anyhting wrong but i cant seem to get them to break loose other than making my self look like an ass... should i have the ebrake on? i just dont think the car has enough torque before the rev-limiter hits. i do the power braking and hit the rev limiter, and just smashing the gas doesnt do it either (all with VSA off of course) the only way i really get the tires to break loose is to cruise into a turn n just hit the gas halfway through the tires break look.
please help a noob out!
i wanna see if i can get this down so i dont look stupid at the track

I don't know the guy, so it's very hard for me to judge on his driving skills. I can say this however, it's that based on his run with the Corolla XRS and then after on my two following runs, the guy was doing slightly better with each run.

See this video of the CTS vs Corolla XRS I filmed before racing them: http://www.putfile.com/media.php?n=CTS-vs-Corolla-XRS

hmmm is it common for people on street tires to burn out? cuz it didnt look like either one did. how would i go about properly doing that on the TSX?

You shouldn't burn out your stock tires. Won't do any good. I didn't even stage them. Just lowered to 25PSI, that's all.

Just launch your car at a higher rpm and feather the gas, if you do it right you should burn out...

thats the thing with your foot on the brake i think the rev limiter is at 3000 rpm, so theres little torque there. how long of a burn out are we talking too, like little churp or something more noticible

You want to get to the peak torque as quickly as possible, but then again, you want to be at your peak torque with full grip to the ground too, because if not, you lose power.

So basically you want your wheels to spin to 4000-4500, but not much more.

Yes, it might help, but you need to drop it as soon as you launch.

But I don't know the characteristics for an AT TSX such as rev limiter, etc.

That wasn't me.

My buddy didn't bring his car along that night. He raced a few times with mine.

And I don't remember racing a CLS then either, although on some runs I barely noticed who I was running against, I was too concentrated!
