If you're gonna throw up a pic of a mustang, why pick that one? And WTF is that jet pack thing on the rear bumper???

I could see a 6 speed TSX keeping up with a BONE STOCK 94-98 GT automatic. They are mid 15 sec cars stock, and from a roll their gearing blows. Now do exhaust, gears, and shift kit and they run mid 14's easily.

I used to have a 94 GT that with about $1k in mods put down 220whp/290wtq, and ran 13.8's @ 99mph. It got 23mpg on the highway and was the most reliable car I've ever owned.

Please done think that all mustang owners are like 'dontcare'. He was making maybe 300hp at the flywheel, and he had to sell it because it was too fast for him??

My 95 Cobra will be 500+rwhp in the next week, should hopefully still be reliable, and IMHO look good doing it.

My brother used to drive a 2001 Civic that he had supercharged and done just about everything imaginable performance-wise to the engine and suspension uncluding internal mods like a cam and some other stuff. I dont remember the exact numbers from his dyno, but it was something like 220whp and 120tq. I remember laughing with him about it not having any torque. But I also remember spanking Mustang GT's very easily in his car. And there was no doubt it was a race.

His car had no torque at all, but a Civic EX from that year only weighs 2600lbs. My conclusion is that a low curb weight is more important than high torque. But if we're talking a few hundred pounds difference between two cars, I would rather have the torque. I'm pretty sure if you were to swap horsepower and torque on the S2000, it would have traction problems because of its curbweight.

Lower flywheel torque at higher RPM allows you to take advantage of gearing and end up with more at the drive wheels. There is some parasitic loss, but it isn't a problem if you begin with a massive overhead. Probably the best example is the way a marine gas turbine generates enough torque to spin a propeller and move a ship through the water.

Basically, low end torque gets your car moving while high end torque keeps on pulling the car, and with high end torque, you are also making high hp. Take a prius for example, it sure makes a whole lot of torque down at about 1000rpm or somewhere around that, but it doesn't make the car very fast at all.
