2002 325i vs. 2006 TSX

So first of all I know that the TSX is not for racing and all that crap, but I have this cousin who thinks he's a badass cuz he drives a beamer. He's always flooring it all the time and its getting kinda annoying. I was just wondering what would happen if we went at it from a stop light and from a roll cuz I really do wanna shut him up. He just as a base AT 325i (184HP/175lb Tq).....so can I get your guys' input on weather its worth it and what the results would be.

Well having owned both I would say the bmw would have it off the line. But I'm not sure who would win as I haven't driving my TSX "spirted" yet. As for your cousin thinking hes the shit tell him hes driving the lowest bmw thats 7 years old and is only worth maybe 10k now.

If you have a MT you will take him. My mom had that same car, and yes the torque is greater but as soon as you get the TSX above 4K, you should easily walk the BMW. Even my mom thought her 325 BMW was a little underpowered, so in 2006 when it was time to get a new one (totaled the 01, got T boned) she stepped up to the 330.

I think this would be a really close race. You guys should both be running mid-high 15's in the 1/4.

With that said - take it to the track. You guys can race each other all you want (legally/safely) and your cousin will change his attitude after for sure. One afternoon at the track and he'll see how slow his car really is!

Maybe you should ask this in a BMW forum?

um my auto TSX raced that 325i and I took him, not by a lot, but at that time my car was all stock. That thing didnt even beat me off the line. As for handling, I HEARD that that BMW handles .85 G while TSX holds .84 G (stock tires?). Thats just a rumor

I have an AT '05 with a modified stock airbox and K&N. I raced my cousin's 330 convertible AT. The convertible weighs more and should offset the 225hp a bit. He had me up until 30 by about a half of car and then I past him and put a car on him up until 80. My car had about 25k on it at the time and he was somewhere close to 90k. His car is also bone stock. I noticed that my car has more low end with the resonator removed and the fog light cover cut open for cold air. Before it would only chirp the tires a little at start and now it will lay a little rubber. The 325 should be no problem even though it is lighter

It sounds like u got him when VTEC kicked in while in 1st gear. Redline is hit at around 40 MPH. Also, I have same year auto TSX and same airbox mod
