Why you should change your cabin pollen filter

I changed mine out today for the first time as part of my DIY 30K maintenance and the original one was pretty filthy. Here's a couple pics, I'm sure other have had worse, but I thought it was a good example of why you should change it.

I replaced the original one w/ a TL one, for some reason the TSX uses a different part number for its filter and its much more expensive. The TL one (like the Accord one) fits in perfectly. $16.66 from Del Ray Acura plus shipping.

Apparently, there are two filters for the Accord. One is more expensive than the other (item #6).

The TL one (like the Accord one) fits in perfectly.

What year TL are you talking about

Mine almost looks the same like your Xizor, I replaced mine last week. I purchased mine from a local Honda dealer.

Good found! Since TL's one is cheaper, I would change it every two years independent of mileage driven.

TL and Accord are the EXACT same part number. The TSX has a different part number but is exactly the same dimensions. Different part numbers sometimes mean different suppliers too, so my guess is b/c the TSX is JDM built, they use a local supplier.

somebody pm'd me in response to this thread saying the TSX filter is made in japan and has different pleats in the filter, where as the Accord and TL are made in the US and hence is cheaper to purchase locally

This webpage has many many links. Which one did you use? You can also get the Wix filter at www.filter1.com for about $12-$13 dollars. I use this site, because I can also order Wix oil filters for 4.40 when you purchase 6 or more filters. You can also get the Air filter for a good price.

I got replacement cabin filter from fleetfilters, too. Fit perfectly. My old one, after about 25k, looked worse -- maybe because most of my driving is highway? It was clogged with soot, dust, bees, dragonflies, "helicopters", etc. I felt much better after putting the new one in, and I'm pretty certain I could feel the gains in low-end torque.

Do you think O2 and CO2 are the only things floating in the air? If you have your recirc off, all the air from the outside goes through this filter first before reaching the air in the cabin...
