Whats wrong with my car?
So here is the Lo Down. When I drive my car for a bit (over 5 min) and then stop at a traffic light the RPMs are very erratic. I have included a video to show exactly what my car does.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1zG1a7v_In0
In the video I am stopped in my driveway with my foot on the break. Headslights off, Climate control off, Stereo Off.
I took it to a dealership and described my problem and they though it was the O2 sensor. So instead of paying 400 to have them do it I bought an new OEM O2 sensor and replaced it myself and it had no effect. Now I have a good but used O2 sensor if anyone is looking for one.
I also read somewhere that it could be bad gas, I always use supreme and have even tried octane booster with no effect.
I have 52k miles on my car and plan on doing the 60k service at 55k. Do you think this will solve the problem or is there a bigger problem?
I purchased the car with 45k miles and it has never had a check engine light.
Any help is appreciated.

Help us out, 5AT or 6MT. I have a lightweight flywheel amongst other mods and will notice this when I use the steering wheel (i.e. the pump for the steering rack engages). I've also had this same thing if I sit at a light and to be honest, it is so random, I can't attribute it to anything other than a sensor somewhere like an EGR valve, but that's just a guess.

Sorry if i left some info out:
Its a 5AT, from what I can tell its completely stock, no mods at all.
I am not moving the steering wheel when it happens, only thing I am touching is the break pedal (well besides the seat that i am sitting on)
This happens every time I stop once the car has warmed up.

maybe its the battery when the cooling fans turn on? Possible Weak battery. Test that by seeing if the lights surge at idle when you trigger a window switch.

i thought this was normal lol
and to add on to problems
just recently my 05 tsx stopped beeping! wtf u know that Beep when u check to see if all doors are closed and locked.... how to fix this? is it possible that my wire tap to the center cubby mod (the blue led feet area) caused this? but it was like 1-2month ago and this problem is now.

I don't even know if we have EGR valves on our cars (exhaust gas recircultor I believe), but I had a Nissan truck with this exact problem and that is what the mechanic told me was wrong. I was too cheap to get it fixed and instead got a TSX... upgrade!

Can you reconfigure driver settings in 2005 models? In the 2006 and newer, you can disable "lock acknowledgement," which is what you're referring to. Put in a new thread maybe.

In my 05 all i know is that it beeps only when the ebrake is on and your in reverse or drive.
The sensor is near the e-brake line, and where the cup holders are so if you pop it out clear the area it should fix the beeping.

I was looking to see how much it would cost to do some of these repairs/fixes and ran into a few problems.
First i don't think there is an EGR valve on the TSX, from what I have read unless I am completely misinformed.
Second I also couldn't find anything about a MAF, I did see a MAP is that the same thing?
I will get the battery and alternator checked this weekend and I will check out the throttle body to see if it can be cleaned.
Thanks for the suggestions.

try resetting your ecu(just pull the neg. battery plug for a little while)
my car did this also; but just once. i was sitting at a light outside of my school and my idle just dropped to like 250 then back up to 500 then back to 250 then back again to 7. dunno why. car didnt' even feel like it was going to die at 250.
but yeah; try resetting the ecu. i did that and it hasn't happened again to yet. but hey i drive an accord so it could be a tad bit different. worth a try though.

Can't be the MAF since our car has a MAP sensor instead of a MAF. PCV valve usually doesn't cause erratic idle. Could be the EGR. Or just reset the ECU since you replaced the O2 sensor. Beside where is our PCV on a K24 anyway?

Shame threads like these never have the original poster ever coming back to state what he or she did to resolve the situation.
I would have been interested in the outcome. Point being, please post resolve once found out, thanks.
