Exclamation What are the differences between ECU part numbers? *NEED HELP*

Okay long story short my 2005 Acura TSX 6 Speed (with NAV) decided not to start last Tuesday. It was towed to Acura and they said i need a new ECU. The service advisor said I need part number 37010-RBB-306. Im not sure if this is the part number on the ECU in the car or he got this info off his computer.

They wants $1662 for the ECU plus $360 labor and tax on top. Umm I cant afford that so they gave me the option to get my own ECU.

I have found alot of ECUs available but all different part numbers. Are the ECUs interchangeable from these cars as long as they are all 2005 TSX 6 Spd? Or will only the same exact part number work? After some research i have found the following.

According to this website, # 37010-RBB-306 should be the same as # 38720-RBB-315
CONTROL MODULE, ENGINE (REWRITABLE). CONTROL UNIT (CABIN) for 2005 Acura TSX. #37010-RBB-306

According to this website, #37820-RBB-A03 supercedes # 37820-RBB-315.
37820-RBB-A03 - CONTROL MODULE, ENGINE (REWRITABLE) - Bernardi Acura Parts & Accessories

So at this point, should these work for me? The Acura dealer will install and program the ECU for me but of course no warranty on the item since i will bring in my own. Please help as I need to find a new ECU by tomorrow if possible.

Thanks AcuraZine!

car-part.com may offer some parts.

Also ebay, such as

2005 Manual Acura TSX ECU Engine Computer Ignition Immobilizer Key 37820 RBB A02 | eBay

Acura parts lists your part no as "37820-RBB-407". See following search:
http://www.acuraoemparts.com/delray/...All&vinsrch=no

good luck

Why don't you PM me your VIN. I will run it through Acura's catalog and give you the part number for your car so that there is no question as to the correct part number.

BoricuaTL:

How many miles does your car have? Are you the original owner or did you buy the car used?
