Uhh I hope I didn't blow up my tranny..
Soooo, I was driving home from a buddy's house about 20 minutes ago. I came up to a red light intersection, which was a little uphill, brilliant me decided "hey I really like the growl from the engine when I take off the line in 2nd gear", so I threw it in SS mode, put it in 2nd, heard the ever so satisfying growl and then...The car did a rough shift as I was getting up to 20mph or so, and 2nd gear started flashing and it shifted to third.
I kinda freaked out, it drove normally as I got up to speed, but I decided hmm, I'll downshift to 3rd (speed limit was 40, I was going like 37, so it is safe to do so), 3rd gear was fine, rpms went up normally, no jerking, but then I tried to downshift to 2nd just to see if it will let me and see what I can feel, and nope just flashed again and stayed in 3rd. When I slowed down to like 20 it wouldn't let me do 2nd or 1st gear.
So I turned on a side road, came to a complete stop (at a stop sign), put it back in auto, and it worked normally again. So at the next stop, I put it in SS again this time started from 1st, shifted to 2nd perfectly fine, no jerking no rough shift, shifted to 3rd, all normal. When I got home I went around the neighborhood, in just 2nd gear (going like 15-20mph), and downshifted to first a few times and back up to see if it did anything weird, and nothing, couldn't replicate the first time it did it.
Sooo I know that was stupid so let's set that aside, but did I mess something up, or was it the car's way of saying, you're an idiot for starting in 2nd on an incline?
I have started in 2nd before, on a flat surface (and don't think I do this a lot, I just like the growl every once in a while) and never had any gears flash at me, it just took off and sounded like a beast all the way 45 and then 3-4-5 to maintain speed. I did disconnect the battery earlier today when I did my TB coolant bypass, but I doubt that has anything to do with it.

Yeah was searching around to see if I can find something similar to what happened with me. Doesn't appear that I actually damaged anything, was just being stupid and the car saved itself BEFORE damage could be done :P.
I don't often do dumb things, but when I do...I almost destroy my car.
/facepalm.
