TSX Nav Boot Screen Showing Honda Logo
Hey all, I have a weird problem.
I have an 05 that came with v 3.30G. I took it out to compare versions w my friends. I put it back in and it reloaded the software. Now, instead of the Acura Navigation logo, it is saying Honda Navigation.
I took it to the dealer and they were stumped. I just orded 3.40C and it still says Honda Navigation. Sounds like a bad divorce and she wants to use her maiden name. Any suggestions how to get the ACura logo back?

They were stumped and had my car all day. They told me i was picking up the honda satellites instead of acura's. I doubt that the same company would have seperate satellites. They said drive around for a week or 2 and see if your system swtiches back to Acura. Well it didnt. Since acura does not stock nav dvds, they told me to order it and see what happens. No matter what happens, they said they would reimburse me.
Well it didnt work last night but after i started my engine this morning, the software reloaded. The acura logo now appears on the boot screen.
Forget the acura logo...Im customizing my own background!!!!!!

There are no such things as "Honda satellites" or "Acura satellites." If your dealer actually said that, I would seriously think about finding another dealer, maybe one with an IQ in the double digits. (GPS satellites, which our navigation system derives positional data, are owned and operated by the Department of Defense and paid for by your tax dollars.)
Anyway, regarding your Honda Nav startup, there is probably a setting buried somewhere to choose which startup loop to run, based on which car the nav unit is in. I suspect that something got reset in your system and it has defaulted to the Honda startup. You should probably skip the dealer all together and write directly to the Acura district service manager so he can forward your problem on to the appropriate tech weenies in Honda.

I hope you didn't buy that. Like Jimby said, those satellites are owned by the US gov.

I came across this problem too (the honda logo) and I found a solution.
The TSX navigation system loads the firmware off of the DVD thats in the trunk.
The DEFAULT TSX navigation firmware is "BN2HN18B.BIN", right now your navi is probably using "BN2HH120.BIN" which is the USDM Accord firmware (thus why the honda logo).
To fix this problem you essentially you have to take out your Navigation DVD in your TSX, copy these files "BN2HN18B.BIN" and "BN2HHMLD.BIN" then rename "BN2HN18B.BIN" to "BN2HH120.BIN" then burn them.
Use bysin's dumpnavi method to load the TSX navigation firmware:
DumpNAVI by bysin
-----------------
This is the GUI front end of the DumpNAVI console program.
It can only be used to modify the background image.
Use at your own risk.
Here are some step-by-step instructions on how to modify
files in your navigation system. It requires a DVD-ROM
drive and a CD or DVD burner.
1. At the main screen of the navigation system, hold down
the Map/Guide, Menu, and Cancel buttons for 5 seconds.
2. Hit the "Version" button on the touch screen.
3. Hold down the Menu button for 5 seconds.
4. Write down the filename next to the words "Loading
Filename" (ex. BNHN404A.BIN).
5. Open your trunk and find the DVD player attached to
the navigation system.
6. Push down the front plate and eject the Navigation
DVD-ROM.
7. Place the DVD in your computer and copy all 9 BIN
files onto your hard drive (should be around 104 MB),
this includes:
BN2HH12C.BIN
BN2HH110.BIN
BN2HH120.BIN
BN2HHMLD.BIN
BN2HN12B.BIN
BN2HN18B.BIN
BN2HN380.BIN
BNHH401A.BIN
BNHN404A.BIN
8. Use the dumpnavi tool to select your car's bootloader
from step #4.
9. Select the Bitmap you wish to use as your background.
10. Hit the "Modify" button.
11. Copy the modified BIN file, including all other BIN
files (9 in total) to a blank CD or DVD.
12. Insert the origional navigation DVD back into the
DVD-ROM in your car.
13. Start the car normally, and at the main navigation
screen hold Map/Guide, Menu, and Cancel for 5
seconds once again.
14. Hit the "Version" button on the touch screen once
again.
15. Take the origional navigation DVD out of the car,
and replace it with the CD/DVD you just created,
but DONT close the front plate!
16. Hit the "Load Disc" button on the Version screen,
then run back and close the front plate on the
DVD drive.
17. It should take about 20 seconds for your car to
load the new BIN and reboot. Once that happens,
take out your burned CD/DVD and put back the
origional navigation DVD.
18. If anything goes wrong, remove the ground to the
battery for 30-60 seconds with the origional DVD
in the car. The old OS will load back on the
system.
