Easy question but initial web search doesnt give me clear answers.
My 05 TSX 6 sp tranny is toast (crunching noises etc)

Which year TSX 6 sp transmissions can I potentially replace it with, just 04 and 05, or will an 06-08 also work?

For bonus points, I already got a used tranny from a junkyard and my mech. installed it. However, we didnt realize it was a 5 sp!!! Junkyard sent us the wrong tranny.
What is your best guess about what 5 sp manual tranny installs and works in my 05 TSX. (No, im not keeping the 5 sp installed )

I found a used 06 6 speed. Will it work in my 05 TSX?

wait, how did they install a 5spd!?
i'm assuming all TSX'es are six speed manuals and were never OFFERED in 5 speed manual.
unless they installed an automatic tranny ?

That is my great mystery. It is a manual 5 sp, with reverse gear in the place where 6th ought to be. My mech said it was slightly different, but it lined up. I can actually drive it, but cruise doenst work. Would it be from a honda or RSX?

So just to clarify, do all 6 sp trannys from 04 to 08 compatible, would fit in my 05?

I would REALLY like to know what tranny you bolted up? im about to do a tranny job too and im wondering if i should replace the whole thing or rebuild it? i belive my input shaft bearings are on thier way out.. likes of popping and clanking only when axles are rotating.. (and yes i already replaced both axles)
