Strange Power Window Switch Issue
I have an '07 TSX with approx 220kms on it.
All of a sudden, the left-rear window switch from the driver's master control would allow the window to lower but not raise. The left-rear door switch itself works perfectly fine - as in I can raise and lower the window normally without issue. When I use the driver's switch though, it goes down but not back up. I thought ok: it must be the master switch so I went to a local wrecking yard and picked one up for $50. I swapped it in and tested it but the exact same symptoms remained - so no change. Any ideas? Could it be the rear switch or perhaps wiring? Fuses all look ok and I didn't see any loose wiring. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. |
Some more information - on the assumption that the master switch is fine, I swapped the rear left and right switches hoping the problem would follow the switch but it did not. It stayed on the rear-left side. Again the rear switch working perfectly while the master was able to lower the window but not raise it. I don't hear anything when I try to raise it from the master switch. I tried the wrecker replacement again for fun and it didn't change anything.
So I'm left with the wiring between the master switch and the left-rear door as the likely cause of the fault. Any other suggestions before I break out the multi-meter? |
My RDX did something similar with the driver side control for front passenger not working while the front passenger controls where working fine. There was a reset procedure and that worked for my RDX. I think it happened around the same time I replaced my alternator; but, didn't notice for a while since the RDX sees mostly commuter duties with just me.
I found this for the TSX: http://www.dormanproducts.com/digita...748-046_TN.PDF The PDF said to perform the reset procedure if any of the following was done: • Disconnecting the battery. • Removing the No.79 (20 A) fuse in the under-hood subfuse box. • Disconnecting the 18P connector from the power window control unit. • Removing the window regulator, glass or glass run channel. • Disconnecting the driver’s door wire harness. You can also try the procedure in this thread on post #6: https://acurazine.com/forums/second-...cedure-700654/ |
