Stiff Inboard Bolster Driver Seat

Does anyone else besides me feel the inboard bolster on the cushion is stiff. I am not by any means wide, 6'1 185lbs, but it is very hard to get comfortable in the seat cushion unless I sit just right. By contrast my Fiat Mirafiori I drove in college had the best seats I ever sat in. For reference I work for Johnson Controls Seating Division and we make seats for Mercedes, Audi, Toyota and Honda.

Uncomfortable drivers seat?

By contrast my Fiat Mirafiori I drove in college had the best seats I ever sat in. My 03 Civic si seats were really comfortable. I don't have a problem, but it by all means is not the softest leather.

You remembered to adjust the lumbar support?

I agree. IMO, the TSX seats are one of the cars biggest negatives.

I think the seats are especially comfortable and still very competent in corners (in terms of lateral stability, etc).

Sure, it takes a few tries to get it adjusted just right, but once it is, it's great.

afrangj: How long have you had the car? Maybe it's just not "broken in" yet?

The problem is the cushion bolster, not the seat back. My right thigh is being pushed in and my buttocks and legs are thin. If you don't notice it then you don't have a problem. On drives over an hour it starts to become noticeable. Not tail burn, just dicomfort.

On Opels and Subarus, I would get back pains at around the shoulder blade area after about 30 minutes of driving. But the TSX seats haven't given me that problem even after a 3 hour drive... I guess it matches my body.

Curls, sorry for not responding in my last thread. Not long. About 4 weeks. Maybe it will get a set. It's just that my Civic si seats were so good and I am not getting the same feel with my TSX seats.

My car has been just right. Actually, I wish that they were a little stiffer. I'd upgrade the seats, but I don't want to lose my power seats and the airbags

Had the seat bottomed out when I was feeling the bolster. I raised my seat up a tick and the bolster is not as noticable. Also have seat at full rear with back recline slight.
